October 11, 20205 yr Hi, This is the newest movement of my orchestral project, Suite of Minimalism. I cannot decide if I am fully happy with it like the other two movements, and I would like your idea of how the ending could be improved, and if you guys even like it. Philip's Time Machine has some of my favorite moments of music I have written yet, but I can almost tell the second half of the piece sounds rushed. Maybe I am crazy though. If you guys agree and give me some pointers, I will probably spend more time working on it and be back here in another few weeks.
October 12, 20205 yr I think you haven't really ended this piece. You just faded it out which in orchestral works is a cop out. That and it seems like you have contradictory gestures near the end. It seems like part of you wants the piece to have a strong finish, maybe kicking into a higher tempo and coming up with a strong finale/coda. But another part of you wants to have a soft ending with a ritardando and decrescendo. There's no orchestral hits or final sounding chord to really conclusively give me an idea which one you're aiming for. Some composers manage to do both. Actually, upon closer inspection it seems like the rit. makes the piece lose some vitality at the end. I would go for a strong ending but it's up to you of course. Besides that I think this piece is really cool! You have a great rhythmic variety as I guess is expected from a minimalist piece. I can imagine this as a soundtrack to a movie about time travel. Well done!

I think the ending I just rushed through, and I might delete this posting until I have finishes the ending so as to show the public when it is actually finished. Thanks for giving me your thoughts here, and for letting me know you like it. This will probably be the final movement of the suite, as I am getting a little bored of the minimalism theme/ensemble.
