Sonata for Horn and Piano in D Major: "The Country" (Feedback is Appreciated)

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. This is a Sonata for Horn and Piano which I wrote recently. The description file explains what each movement is depicting. The recording has real musicians. Hope you enjoy it. Any constructive feedback is appreciated.

Alright 12 minutes here we go...

This section was too long and static for me.

bar 209 completely threw me off, where are those notes played in the audio file?

Well, something about the whole thing felt to much of a cliche to me.

Also, personally, I don't enjoy "empty" parts (such as the picture I took above) but some might enjoy it.

First of all, well done for arranging for this to be performed. I personally found the Piano part the most interesting and in my opinion this shows you are more a pianist than a horn player! Maybe I am wrong although, at least in the opening slow section, the horn part is not very well written to be frank. It works harmonically, however it is comparatively stale against the piano part which I do think is rather good.

Why did you write this? Are you a student?

Thanks for posting.
