Improvisation on the death theme.

Featured Replies

Okay, so today I was feeling pretty bad and for some reason I thought I needed to improvise something dark using the Dies Irae theme.

I wanted to portray my feelings in the freest possible way but at the same time record it just in case something interesting would happen.

This wasn't my first take, but I didn't do many tries either, so you can be sure that 97% of it is pure improvisation.

Anyways, share your thoughts about this. I know it is pretty mediocre compared with good improvisations, but I'm still an amateur and I don't have tools that would be helpful like perfect pitch.

It was a nice thing to listen to, for me (if I hadn't known Dies Irae) it felt more calm than dark really.

I expected more heavy clusters and pedal runs around the lower parts.

Also there were some parts where I expected richer harmonies, especially when you used direct quotes.

Say, at 7:32, you could use some high clusters or seconds between your notes...

True, but I'm still not very good with improvisation. So I tried my best I guess haha.
