Little Irish Airs - A collection of simple arrangements of Irish slow airs for the pianoforte (so far...)

Featured Replies

Been taking a break from composing, but mostly because I wanted to arrange a couple of these beauties.

I love me some Irish airs from time to time and these are the first three that I have sat down to arrange for the piano for myself.

Y'alls can have a listen. The links are down below. And I got the PDF file for the score. 😋

Nice job!  I liked all three of them.  The third one "Be My Vision" is a melody that I am actually familiar with as it was assigned to harmonize in my jazz harmony class in jr. college!  I wasn't even aware that it was an Irish tune!  You did a great job with it delaying the resolution to the tonic until the very end.  In my version I had to use tritone substitutions and planing for the requirements of the assignment so it came out a bit different!  LoL  Thanks for sharing!

@PeterthePapercomPoserWhoa, do you have your version for the tune up anywhere? I would be interested to listen to the tune with tritone substitution, because I could never quite imagine the tune sounding so jazzy.

And thanks for giving my arrangements a listen. 🙂
