"Disquietude" - for Orchestra

Featured Replies

Hi all, this is one of my current projects.  It is not finished and the engraving is not finished also.  The work is not flowing as easily as some of my other projects.  This piece is an orchestration of a composition I composed for violin and piano.  All comments/suggestions/advice are welcome.

It's coming on very well. Kind of "traditional modernist." Engaging enough, the rhythms and varied scoring, different instrument groups taking up phrases antiphonally. It's clear you have skills with instrumentation and balance (and rendering!)

I need a little more time looking at the score. It would be easier if the score could be condensed - seems it could be reduced to a basic 17 staves - but it'll just take longer going through.

It's music with which I'm perfectly comfortable.

Thanks for the listen.  I went over this work with my mentor and I now have a more positive vibe on it.  I do I have some objectives to achieve in the work; especially using the existing harmonic language to expand the material.  I really do appreciate the time you took to review the work.  I am pleased you found the work worthwhile.  I will return to it soon.

I like this piece a lot.

In general, harmony and dialogue between parts bring a beautiful atmosphere.

Okay ... I did some more work on the piece.  Hopefully, I will be able to post a finished or near finished composition in the next few weeks for review and suggestions.
