Greek Medley (Unfinished)

Featured Replies

What I'm working on atm. A medley of original compositions in a Greek style, for full orchestra. Homage to my time playing Greek music for many years. Still work in progress though..

Sorry about that, just checked this one and it's ok https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/HXWJK

I like the free-time exotic folkish feel of this.  It sounds like you're either using 7/4 or alternating between 3/4 and 4/4 in the first section and the 2nd section is also in irregular meters.  I like the guitar in the 3rd part - seems like you could easily extend it.  I like all the contrasts between the various different parts of the medley.  My only personal pet peeve/complaint is that very often your quite rich orchestrations sound shrill and piercing in the rendering but maybe in a real performance that would sound better.  Thanks for sharing!  Are you planning on adding more sections?

Thanks Peter, yes I'll be adding two more rhythms and that's it. Still very much work in progress so there'll be lots of refining to do. Many thanks for your reply.

Nice tunes. Yes, sometimes it sounds with saturation, I guess it's a mixing thing (that would fix it).

Lovely melodies .... the mixing is a problem though; could it be that your orchestration has too many players in unison?

Hard to tell without the score.
