Piano part playable at this tempo? Advice?

Featured Replies

Still tidying up my score, but if anyone has a piano handy and could try out my accompaniment for me, I would appreciate it.  I wrote this wanting to make something where the piano had a chance to shine a bit, but...

1.  Can it be done at this tempo by the sort of solid pianist a community choir is likely to have access to for rehearsals and concerts?  I don't want to limit this piece to virtuosos.

2.  Can it be done by that pianist without them needing hours of practice time?  This isn't a concerto, that, once learned, can be played at many concerts.  Accompanists aren't going to want to spend hours and hours practicing a single 3-minute piece that they are likely to play in one concert and then never see again.

If it's not feasible in a reasonable amount of practice time, I can thin it out a bit to make it more manageable.

I'm not a pianist at all, so all suggestions are welcome.  Thanks!!

I just played through it and it’s definitely playable at tempo and I think it’s feasible in the amount of practice time that you’re going for, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Thanks so much for taking the time to give it a whirl, caters!  That makes me feel better.  I'm not a pianist, so I always worry when I write anything complicated that it's going to make the piece unperformable.
