2 poèmes: No. 1, Adagio piangevole

Hello guys. I am working in this group of two musical poems. Listening to a lot of Scriabin and Rachmaninoff is helping me to discover a new world. I must warn I am very busy right now with my interpretation classes and I barely have time to compose, so the second one will take more time.

Hi @ClaudioCamacho,

I enjoy the first poem very much. Very nice harmony and counterpoint, I especially enjoy your voice leading, definitely there's Rachmaniov in it. Great use of texture and register as well.

And it's the recording played by yourself? All the tempo markings and expressions are perfectly executed, great job!

Henry

This is beautiful. The lenguaje fits well with the mood.

Hello @Henry Ng Tsz Kiu,

Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. Yes, I played the piece, although I know the audio is not very professional. Some people has been messaging me saying the audio is clipping a bit, is something I'll try to investigate for the next interpretations.

This was my comment. Make sure you check your peaks in your recording software before hitting record. It'll save you a large headache by taking time for some preparation for the future.

The music is lovely, very nice and colorful musical language

Hey @Thatguy v2.0!,

Thanks again for the comment, it helps me understand what I can improve on the next works. One of my friends is a sound technician, he have been able to advise me very well, so because it's not very difficult and it's not that much effort I'll try.

Vey nice! It started like a piece of Schumann ( almost like one of his Davidbündler oieces), but the it went a bit in another direction.

Well done!

Gorgeous piece! It's so impressionistic and juicy for the ears! Really a unique and awesome piece!

I am glad you enjoyed it @ComposedBySam. Thank you for your words

Hi! I love It, very well harmony, counterpoint and it has an impressionistic mood which makes the piece even better, but i find 10-12 bars a bit confusing, I think you could clear it up!

Hello @Samuel_vangogh,

First of all thank you for leaving a comment, I appreciate both positive qualifiers and constructive criticism!

Indeed, I agree with you that it is a bit confusing.  Although I have to admit that this was my first intention, I am attracted to ambiguous writing (for example, the first two notes of the triplet in bar 10 can be practically interpreted as two eighth notes in binary subdivision).  Still, if it's too confusing for the interpreter I'll try to change it.  Anyway, that's just a sketch, when I finish the other poem, I'll reupload both of them together in one whole video.

Nice scoring, nice recording and interpretation despite of the little audio peaks and great job overall. For its briefness, it "talks" a lot. I don't want to repeat what other users have said but I agree essentially with Henry on how you handled the voice and with Samuel in the mood/atmosphere you achieved.

Looking forward to check your next poem!!

Kind regards,
Daniel–Ømicrón.

Hey @Omicronrg9,

Sorry for the late reply! I haven't checked this forum in a long time. Thank you very much for your words, I appreciate the comment.

Unfortunately, this season I'm more focused on my instrument and I can't dedicate much time to composition, but as soon as I can, I'll be back to my old ways.

Take care!

Claudio
