Overture in D

You have a nice piece here. It sounds a bit like a Mozart opera overture, even in the way it ends. Were you intending to model the piece after Mozart overtures?

Just from listening it seems well written.

Good job.

In my opinion the ending comes too abruptly. Perhaps you can take some time on this piece and extenuate it so it does not end in such a sudden manner. Otherwise it is quite alright.

Is it just me, or does the beginning of this sound slightly Nikolai Ivanovich Lobachevskyed?

Bah! Keep it at overture but make it German! Overt

No, make it Portuguese with 'Abertura'!

at the very begining the piece resmbles that of Haydn or perhaps Mozart, but then it went into stranger territories, resembling the style of Schubert perhaps. it reminds me more of a Menuetto than an overture, it is too melodius to be an opening piece,(other the the banging of the timpani). It closely follows the Sonata form, i like that, making it sounding very "classical".
