Not a Chaconne for Solo Violin or Violin and Continuo

Featured Replies

Well, it could be played as solo violin or solo violin + piano/harpsichord, just works as a continuo.

I only typesetted what I have written on my manuscript, which usually lack of dynamics... Maybe I would revise it later, but here it is.

Comments are welcome 😛

This piece seems a bit "unreal" to me. I am not a violinist but it seems to me that many parts are very difficult or impossible (5 note chords?). On the other hand the role of the harpsichord is "almost null", limited to a one note bass, for that it is better to use a cello or something like that.

That's why the harpsichord is actually said by me to be a basso continuo lol

5 notes chord one, it's not expecting you to play them simultaneously, obviously. Reference to Ysaÿe Sonata 2(?), have to break the chord apart. Some parts are very difficult indeed.
