Simen-N Posted November 13 Posted November 13 Fantasia per organo pleno in g major. Its been a long time since I have written music, close to a year I believe. This week a felt like writing something again, this is a four voiced fantasia for organ written in the "stile antico". The structure is based on two melodic lines that follows each other in imitation and harmonic modulation. Both melodic lines are always together in the exposition. The inspiration for this is watching my 5 year old and 2 year old sons play (this time in harmony). My 5 year old does one ting, right afterward my 2 year old is doing the same ting, only a little bit different. Please tell me what you think, MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu Organo pleno fantasia > next PDF Fantasia g major organo pleno Quote
Pietro17 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Masterful counterpoint The beginning feels a little like Bach's allabreve in D The mp3 you provided doesn't sound like a real organo pleno and I think it's better that way. Whole piece, which is quite long, played with loud pleno registration can be a little tiring, it's very difficult to play so much of thick texture without it feeling weary for the listener - think of Bach's Fantasia in G major (piece d'orgue), it's not impossible, but difficult. Maybe think about some changes of registrations (like in the middle) to give the listeners moments of less intensity I really admire your counterpoint skills, keep up your great work and please don't stop composing Quote
Luis Hernández Posted November 16 Posted November 16 Within seconds of starting to listen to and view the score, my “analysis” mode went to off. The counterpoint is so beautiful and surely the best thing to do was to let the music come in and enjoy it. I really like this sound (flute-like a bit) on the organ. And for this piece I think it goes well. A full organ sound, I share that opinion, excessive. There is a moment, when the sequences end, around 3:36 when the timbre seems to change, which I also like. Congratulations on the piece. Quote
