May 6, 20251 yr The final piece of my four Piano pieces set and just a lame joke. Can be developed into a postmodern minimalistic masterpiece by repeating the joke forever and forever...... Joke in A flat major.pdf Hope you enjoy this one! Henry Edited May 7, 20251 yr by Henry Ng Tsz Kiu adding a hyphen for the title lol
May 6, 20251 yr Fun little piece. I especially loved the middle section with the change of tempo and key. The ending? Really sounds like a joke!

May 7, 20251 yr I lol'd at the ending ๐ย Congrats, this is now begrudgingly stuck in my head. How dare you craft such an invasive little earworm ๐ย
May 9, 20251 yr The ending is pretty weird; but it definitely made me laugh! (So lived up to the title.) Hope you're fully recovered from your recent illness Henry. Sending good wishes, Alex

Also, this is generally suited for children and beginners to play, maybe at a slower tempo. One issue might be that it looks quite easily to trip off when playing in a fast tempo.

Thx for your good wishes Alex! Henry

Yeah those octaves running are causing me pain in a fast tempo lololol! Yeah I just try to write in a simple way in all four piano pieces of the same set, because I am way too complex finishing the whole Sextet and it's too heavy-loaded to keep talking matters of lives and deaths lol! May 27, 20251 yr Hey @Henry Ng Tsz Kiu! The middle section in F major is my favorite and probably, the most musically and harmonically interesting part imo.ย It's great that you manage to satisfy both a sophisticated formal structure while having humor with it.ย Thanks for sharing!

May 30, 20251 yr Re-hearing the piece I was thinking if you could also use 3/8 at a slower tempo or 4/4 but all the crotchets here are then in triplets - since counting this fast may be challenging and unnatural, then I suddenly realize why you chose 108 per dotted minum, which makes complete sense - but again, just personal notational preferences at the end of the day I guess.

Haha yeah, given how lame the Ab major sections surrounding it! I definitely need more HUMOR in my life, whether itโs the joyous mood or the body fluids lol! Henry

Well Iโm very used to a Beethovanian Scherzo marked in three in a bar so I just retain that! Henry
