The Crystal Maiden (piano miniature)

This is my piano miniature.
In this music, I wanted to capture the image of a doll or a figurine: a cold, lifeless kind of beauty... But is it really lifeless? =)

A curious and lovely piece.

You’ve made good use of the piano’s range. At first, the very high register can be a bit tiring, but this is soon offset.

It would probably sound good on a celesta, an instrument we associate with this sort of scene.

Yes, you’re right—a celesta would have worked well at the beginning. In fact, I was, to some extent, imitating one by using the piano in its highest register.
