Measure problems

Featured Replies

Hello, my measures aren't ok I afraid. The amount of them used to grow by the time I filt them, like first when I made a new "project" there were 31 measures at the beginning, when I filt about 28 of them the amount of total measures grew to 36, when I filt 32 (of 36) the amount grew to 40 (or something like that) and so on. That way I was able to compose as long compositions as I wanted.

But few days ago, I normally started composing the new thing, I filt the measures etc. but then I got confused because the total measure amount didn't grow, so I couldn't compose it longer! Only 31 measures, that's it.

I tried to find a reason, but I couldn't, so I ask this here. Please help.

I use Finale 2006.

They have this really useful thing included with any piece of software called the "Manual". This interesting document will, in great detail, explain to you exactly how to use the various features of the program in order to be able to use it proficiently. It is highly recommended that you actually READ THE DAMN MANUAL because in almost all cases, your questions will be answered in it.

*ahem*

Since I'm feeling friendly at the moment, I'll help you out. In Finale, right-click on the Measure Tool (it's near the left side of your toolbar, most likely, it looks like a blank measure) and select "Add Measures..." and then you can pick how many you want to add. That way, you never "run out" of measures. I honestly have no idea what you were doing before to get it to automatically add them because the program doesn't actually do that; you need to add them manually if you want more.

Either way, that'll solve your problem.
