A piece called Melsk

Featured Replies

hello,

I made this piece in few hours today.

If you could help me with telling me what category/genre you think it is I would be very glad, cause I dont know so much about different styles of music :) I just compose after what sounds nice to me.

Im not sure what my inspiration was, I just found a melody while playing at the keyboard, and after that I build on it in Midimaker. I will reload the piece if I make a new version.

The name "Melsk" doesent mean anything, its just a random name I made up :)

[Edit] I worked few hours with the piece today (11.12.06) and yesterday, so I uploaded a new version to this thread!

-:- I removed the bad ending today (16.12.06)

-:- I made a longer version with new parts (23.12.06)

Hope you like the piece :) tell me what you think.

Well... um... "interesting" harmonies in the beginning. The peice was a little too short to go into depth. It's a little diddy of a tune. It sounds fun and bouncy but at the same time dark and melodic. It takes skill to write in such a way. It was very interestingg but a bit short. Perhaps you could post a score?

Thanks in advance!

Alex

Nice! I would've thought this would sit nicely in the incidental/soundtrack' section or whatever it's called. (The one directly belowe this section)

Infact maybe under 'piano music/solo keyboard' fits this better. Hope that helps ;)

Good work btw! liked the music box/celest sounding instrument (they sound the same in Midi at least!)

Nice same old style, I heard that you used some alberti basses in the piece.. But in a non-classical way. Good job. :whistling:

Perhaps it would fit the Keyboard or Chamber Music category...

Thanks Nigel :D

To Pedro and everyone else: I need most to know the main category, since I will try the piece in a free competition. Is it a popular or cinematic piece? And undercategorys; latin, pop, alternative, world, instrumental, filmmusic, gametracks... I really have no idea :P I need any advise :pinch:
