Piano Sonata 1 op. 3 Allegro Appassionato

Featured Replies

Hello everybody,

I have finished the Allegro Appassionato movement op my Piano Sonata in Am op. 3. The structure can be described a following. It begins with a quit sad part witch is a prelude to the main melody. Then follows the main melody, but it is not yet in it

I like the start, it is sad, the prelude part is nice and simple, proffessional sound. The quietness goes on for a bit too long in my opinion, I think there should be some action, not necessarely a hard bit, earlier. I like the bit at 4mins though. Quite repetitive though, also I like the bit at 5.15. A pleasant song over all, I like it :-D, but some action, or louder part with thinker chords would have gone well in the middle. Good work!!

thanks for the comment.

I agree with The Music Man; the piece is very well done and well played, but it gets a bit repetitious at times and could definitely use a more heated section. Overall, though, a nice piece.

Very nice piece, it's got a smooth melody to it, great work, I like it. Thanks for sharing.

(a quick note: it's "which" not "witch") :musicwhistle:

And now, on to your music.

The first thing I notice is the tempo indication "allegro appassionato". Really, it is neither "allegro" nor "appassionato". It's too smooth and calm for either word, not to mention too slow.

The next thing that strikes me is that, while the melody seems nice, the bass part seems completely disjointed. The left hand seems to be unrelated to the right. I would like to see a score to make more precise comments, but my sense is that it sounds "improvised" and lacks cohesion. That's not, in and of itself, a bad thing, but it can lead to a bit of monotony as the listener isn't lead as readily along as if the music had been very carefully planned out.

The piece is indeed improvised. I have put some toughts in it, yet the details are improvised. And like you've sad: the left hand parts are just there to "fill up" they have no coherentness with themself, nor the right part. Thanks for all the comments i've gotten on this piece, i now realise there is lot's more to it, if you realy want to compose a good piece. I must say i underestimated what it takes to be a composer. But i like the challenge.
