Alittle trick I found out

I know a way to compose music for free without using midi. first you download the fruity loops Demo then Audacity. In the demo version of fruity loops you can't save so, you export what you have then import it on to audacity as a mp3. Just to let you know Audacity is a freeware program and you can save on audacity. very simple.

There is nothing illegal about a simple exploit. If you are using the two shareware or freeware softwares legally, there is nothing that says you can't use them together to make a product, as long as you are using those products legally (which in this case, you are). This is the beauty of freedom. People are smart, and there is nothing you can do about someone finding an exploit. I hope you will realize that this forum doesn't support warez, and only supports talent, motivation and creativity.

I use OpenOffice, which is freeware, instead of MS Office. By your definition, that's just like using warez too, since I'm using legal free software (which, incidentally, programmers volunteered their time to write) instead of paying for more expensive office software.

Warez is illegal cracked software programs. This technique mentioned in this post does not promote cracking or hacking any software, it simply is a harmless exploit.

People do get hurt...namely the people who code the hardware, so don't kid yourself its not a harmless exploit. Do you really think this is thier second job and they just solely want to code program for you to find a way to misuse thier product from it's original intent. There are other programs...such as Computer Music's MUZY that will do the same thing, but you can save your projects and work on them later and not have to leave your computer on and the program running....all for the price of a magazine at the book store (plus it comes with free synths).

Yet, I'll agree that I've sounded a self-rightoues donkey. In all earnestness, I do hope you all try FL Studio, I've been using it for years, it is still my main DAW. It costs but a few video games (being that I recommend the XXL version). I'm not really interested in what you can or can't afford....if you can't afford it then don't use it. I'm still using a CASIO VL-1! You only have to buy FL Studio from the website for free uprgades for the rest of your life so you won't be paying like the other DAW users...this in itself is incrediable. Besides, I don't think the other program that you mention has all the other functions that FL studio has to record in quality. Plus it really sounds a pain to do it your way.

Best of luck with whatever you choose, integraty does have a corelation with musical quality and productivty...yet, there is nothing wrong with exploring so go and play. I'll heed my position on this and bow out. Peace.

As far as I can tell, you're using this thread to promote FL Studio.

I still see nothing wrong with using two pieces of freeware to do the same thing as one piece of commercial software. If you buy the commercial software, you save yourself the time and effort it takes to always run something through multiple programs. If you use the two pieces of freeware, you save yourself money, at the expense of your time and energy.

By the way, neither the exploit or FL Studio interests most of us in the least. Very few of us use synthesizers at all. I'm a pencil-and-paper composer myself.

Your right, I take back what I said. It isn't even an exploit. I reread the post and he simply is talking about using 2 pieces of "freeware" legally. In this sense, an exploit is taking advantage of a bug. If this was the case, it wouldn't exactly be "illegal" just "unethical". If you want to get techincal, exploiting software is not really illegal, but like you said, unfair. But this isn't even the case. There IS no bug, this is simply a procedure and using 2 pieces of software to their full advantages. I don't see any legal issues with this. We have the freedom to choose what programs we want to use.

Think about this, if one program is free, and can do A but not B, and another program is free, and can do B but not A, who can tell me that I can't use both programs to get both A and B done? Both programs are being used legally. One does A legally, the other does B legally, we combine to get A+B legally.

If you do download the trial version of FL studio your allowed to export but if you download most other programs your allowed to get the feel of it (for a limited amount of time) and saving / printing / exporting are disabled. So generally I'd consider it FL's fault for not making it stricter, or maybe it was they're idea?

It may be technically illegal, if it's written somewhere on the usage rights document (though I never read those), but I think unless someone tries to make a commercial mix with it, the developers probably won't get too ticked. Since there's really no way to prevent someone from doing it, I think they've just taken it as acceptable loss.
