A snail singing!? Yes, about a fleece

Hiya BlenchingSnail,

First off a piece of advice, if you ever come into my garden DO NOT eat the tasty looking blue pellets, they will dissolve you from the inside out (I can't help it if my parents are homocidal) though judging by some of the comments above some would appreciate that!

Anyway to the music, I actually really liked the song, sounded like a crazy amalgamate of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Vashti Bunyan and Honeroot! The vocals to me, sounded like something you'd find in an electronica, alternative album (between the thumping music), I think the piece is really charming and it really brightened up my morning (incredible considering I have a HUGE amount of opera revision but never mind)

Anyway, nice to see you come out of your shell and share some music with us, alas if only all snails were so talented! I have attached a lettuce for you as a symbol of my appreciation.

That's the spirit Chris!! How beautiful and thoughtful of you to obtain a delicious cabbage for me! My tongue is tingling with delight. In fact, I have attached some of my extra special happy slime in return. I hope you enjoy it!

WhAt has the worLd come To?

That isn't exactly friendly.

Think again, was it supposed to be friendly?

Cute melody. It sounds very "springy" and has a nice flow. Very atmospheric.

P.S. I Slipped on your slime trAiL on The way into this thread. That may be a safety hazard. Anyone have a mop?

  • Author

Thanks for the comments KSP. I am terribly sorry as I have no mop off hand, but I wish you every success in finding one. Such are the troubles to compensate for keeping a snail around :)

And maybe it's just my snaily eyes, but there appears to be a sudden influx of S A L T around these areas!!

Perhaps it would be best to equip my umbrella for a while...

Blenching Snail

I'll protect you

It was an extremely original song and I must say I enjoyed it immensely. It could easily be my favourite user composition I've heard on the Internet. In fact, yes, it is. Continue composing, O Slimy One, but stay the hell away from my cabbages.

P.S. Or else. SALT.

Oh, and I must ask, what software did your Snail-ness use? Did you first create a hand-slimed score or input directly into a computer? And...is that a live orchestra I hear? However do the snails manage to hold their violins? What a terribly disturbing thought.

To superSongstress: thank you for protecting me. Your kindness is appreciated, as well as your courage.

To zephyrclaw: thank you for your extremely generous words of encouragement, although I was highly distraught when you said, and I quote,

"stay the hell away from my cabbages. P.S. Or else. SALT."

this upset me a great deal!!!!!!!!!

of course, I am only fooling you. I am a frivolous snail! I understand that you love cabbages too and I would never take that away from you... it hurts...

sigh....

I digress. Pain of the past has embraced me as of this moment, and I fear I cannot continue, but alas I will not blench this time, I shall "brave the weather" as they say.

You asked about what "software" or as I like to call it, "soilware" I used in the making of my little song. Suffice to say, there was no use of soilware this time. The strange acoustics may be due to the abundance of flowerpots, although I am unsure in all honesty. You also enquired about how the orchestra plays the instruments - well, the National Garden Orchestra of Joy attracts all sorts of little critters, either as the performers or as the instruments themselves!! For example, there are a family of three ladybirds who take the liberty of being the timpani. Garden reknown conductor and music enthusiast, Stick-Insect Icarus leads the orchestra.

I hope this paints a delightful picture (unfortunately I am not talented at artwork hence I cannot paint for you)!

You confuse and frighten me greatly, but rest assured than I mean you no harm. The cabbages embrace you.

How long have you been composing for, Blenching Snail?

  • 9 months later...

This guy was AWESOME!!!

Alas, it seems that alot of the characters of YC have left over the past year, JohnGalt, PaulPoehler, BlenchingSnail, JLee, Lulu.

*sighs*

I still listen to this piece, its so brilliant.

But yeah.

Not much point in ressurecting this thread other than to say that really. If anyone wants to listen to the song I could probably upload it (wonders if it's legal).

*shrugs*

I guess this is what happens when you install desktop computers inside insane asylums. *sigh...*

Of course, it seems a lot have already started being taken away due to minor infractions of their users. *gestures to second line of fourthage's previous post* Ahh... poor blokes, they had their moment of commune with the outside world. :P
