January 31, 200719 yr Here's what I have so far of a mass I'm working on. The lyrics are that of the Apostle's Creed and are in German. I plan on writing much more to this movement and maybe even more movements. Gro
January 31, 200719 yr It has a soothing, consistent feel to it, and is orchestrated quite well. I enjoyed the harp in the beginning (I'd enjoy more of it :P). Nice harmonies with the choruses...they felt a bit "lonely" after the introduction with the full orchestra, though. I recommend a background melody or accompaniment (which you may already have planned. Great start, though !
February 3, 200719 yr Fine - nice woodwind writing except taking a chance on the thick-sounding close bassoons in bar 6. A good touch, thinning the texture in bar 7 (i.e. removing the bass). Just a suggestion - harp bar 2 arpeggiated chords - would a similar figuration in bar 4 work? I think you'll have to do a lot more to make it a mass. Don't they usually start with Kyries or something. It has the kind of solemnity of B's Mass Op 123. Looking forward to more.
March 20, 200719 yr I like it. Kind of reminds me of something that would be in one of the "Tales" series of games, but is still original. You should throw some soundfonts on it to make it sound more organic.
