Born from blood

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. For a long time haven't been there due to technical problems (that I am still experiencing).

Here is my latest composition, little orchestrated. Symphonic choir, orchestra and soloist. The piece was made to mmorpg game where we can notice the starvation and poor on the streets.

Due to technical problems this piece took me about 4h. It's got simple aab composition.

I wait for all of your opinions.

EDIT: Changed some spellings.

poornes on the streets.

:o Interesting.......:P

Your Piece: Amazing

Your english: not so much :P

But no, seriously, I loved this work. Very Soule-ish. :o I can tell that you're a fan of him (as most sane incidental composers are, hahaha). I really liked your use of the horn throughout. The vocals were ethnic in style, and I found them to be very effective... My only complaint is the ending... even though this will probably be looped in gameplay, it just doesnt seem like a convicing ending... even to be going back to the beginning as a set loop.

Anyway, you've truly got a great piece here, Peter (I'm guessing that's your name!).

Thanks for sharing!

I second everything Pianobeast said. This is awesome! I want more:).

lovely vocals, really emotional.

How did you record this?

I hope to develop this piece as soon as I solve my technical problems (change the orchestration a little, make the song longer). Vocals recorded in studio, 24bit, added reverb.

Cool, what did you use for the rest of the piece?

My talent :P.

PWN RAPED! :P

:P :o

I liked what you wrote, but I agree with PianoBeast in that you should retouch the end of the piece, given that it comes rather abruptly. Overall, you did a good job!

Keep it up,

Pedro

It sets quite a clear mood, of sadness, especially on the solo voice. I liked the contrast between the horn, with its soft and smooth sound, and the solo voice, with its rough, nearly-cryin' timbre. It feels very suitable for a scene that describes any type of sadness.

Here's another thing I enjoyed: the horn has a kind of indefinite ethinical figure, while the bells feel a lot 'church-like' and the solo voice, sort of oriental, arabian. This contrast leaves the atmosphere of the whole song kind of hybrid, undefined, which I find very attractive, since it's not restricted to a single ethnical structure and can be applied in several different situations.

However, I agree with what was said before, about the abruptness of the ending, and I think you could create little contrasts throughout the song that aren't really noticed separatly but create a nice variation on the whole aspect of the work. That would be a way to enrich a bit the orchestration, but it would obviously affect the work and possibly create a new, more tense mood.

Another idea that would really really make the work a lot more tense is the use of imitative couterpoint on the main theme, specially if the other brass instruments were encharged of such counterpoint. I guess it would kind of change the whole thing...anyways, just a thought!

Really liked it, thanks for posting!

I liked it a lot, its sounds very good. Im digging the ethnic voices, they add so much more drama to the piece. Where is that from. Anyone know where I can get some of those loops, for free preferabl. I dont have a lot of money, ahaha.

Okay here is finished version of this song. The story continues when new life opens his eyes and sees the world after that, repetition of main theme.

Wow, you certainly do use your talent! This is a very nice overall piece but do think the first section is the best. The flute is lovely though:).

What game is this for?

This is a very nice track. I think that the use of samples could have been a bit better; the realism suffered throughout.

The ethnic vocals were a nice touch but I think they could have been mixed in a little bit better, they sound annoyingly buzzy at points which detracts from their effectiveness.

The composition itself though is great, so no complaints on that front. Overall, just work on the mixing and use of samples because you could have brought out a lot more realism from this track.

Great work! :D
