The Royal Pterrordactyl of Doom

Featured Replies

This just doesn't really fit into any of the other categories. It's arranged for three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, a contrabass, a drum set, and just a general "string ensemble". Epic.

The Royal Pterrordactyl of Doom.

Nice work

The first half,..... and now again it comes up... This section (the main theme)reminds of something and I just can not remember what. This is why I have taken so long to comment. It reminds me of a rock song from many, many years ago. If I ever remember what it is I'll tell you.

Oh man, I really wanted to tear you a... you know, but I just don't have good reason for that. All I can say is: good work. The beginning reminds me very old video game for Amiga: SuperFrog (first ten seconds) - do you know that game? It was great... that game of course...

Your piece seens like ABA form - I really liked 'B'. Very nice harmonies and melody. 'A' reminds me old song from Queen, I don't know why.

Hey man, thanks. I've never heard of that game, but I'll look into it. And yeah, the piece is ABA. I tried to make A as majestic as possible and B as epic as possible so as to have a majestic/epic/majestic form, heh.

I would really like to find out what this song is, though. I'll do my own. . . research. . . and if anybody finds out, I'd love to know what I happened to have ripped off.

Very nice work, definitely video game material.

One more question, the royal ..wat? of doom? whats that word? Pterrordactyl? lol sound complicated.

You know, pterodactyl infused with terror. It's awesome.

I wasn't saying you ripped it off. I'm sorry if that was they way you took it. It just reminds me of something from long ago and I still can't figure out what it is. Maybe it just triggers an ancient thought in my brain. You didn't happen to crawl in my brain and rip me off did you? hehe

It definately sounds like something Freddie Mercury would sing to.

That puts you in good company.

I didn't mean that you were saying that I ripped it off. I just call all "borrowing", accidental or intentional, "ripping off", whether I'm the culprit or if it's somebody else.

And hey, if it sounds good enough for Queen, it's good enough for me.

I kind of lost interest after the first few repetitions. Got my interest back at the triplets. kept it through B. Lost it again when i heard that first melody. Good for a background. Not good for a concert.

Hey guys, I told you it sounds like something from Queen :)

I'm huge fan of that group. I'll make a little investigation (did I write it correctly? :whistling: ). If I find something, I'll tell you of course :P

I have been thinking about taking off the repeat signs for the first A. I'll probably do that, and hopefully it'll help.

Really nice!

If it was in a videogame, I'd place it at the beginning or the end (credits) of the game (I think I got this impression because of the drum beat you use).

The melody alone is really wonderful and would fit in anywhere :)

Yes I have got it!! :D:) It sounds like Queen's ""Innuendo" a little bit. It has the same character, but Queen's piece is in the minor key and it sounds sharper (?) I think... Ok guys, it's end of my investigation

Spherenine,

It was nice. Not my genre, but nice. You definitely aren't sticking to the traditional classical approach that most the composers here go by - don't know if thats good or bad, but it is what it is! After the quartal opening, I was watching for a man to yell "This - Is ---- JEOPARDY!" Never quite got there, though.

Nice work though - a bit stagnant, but you may have wanted that (?) using ABA.

- Duff
