Thanks Henry for pointing this out. @Churchcantor In your own words: So basically your posts so far could basically be summed up as "Haven't yet had the time nor mood to listen to it yet." I would rather hear what you might have to say about the music once you actually do listen to it, instead of posting 6 replies to my topic which don't discuss anything about the music. Before you replied, my topic had one reply by Chopin and was still on the "Works with Few Reviews" List. But now that you've cluttered the topic with meaningless posts, the topic is no longer on that list and is less likely to receive actual substantive reviews from the other members of the forum. There are places on the forum where you can post this kind of content though - such as in Off Topic - Journals. Or in the case of the Russian cartoon - either Random or Repertoire. Or you can tell your stories by posting status updates in your profile. But I think you are trashing the forum with the way you are currently using it.

This is the best description for posted music I've seen, well done 😄 I liked this more and more as it went on. It kind of reminded me of the form of Bolero, just this giant crescendo of a piece. All the electronics and effects worked really well. At first I didn't think I would care for it, but as I said, by the end I wanted to replay it again. The ending caught me off guard too, very cool! I really like your Thom Yorke style of singing, you kind of sound like him too, especially when your vocals first entered. You a Radiohead fan? Your vocals became more emotional and unchained as it went on, I could really feel the pain. It was a bit much for me, but I think it fit the song well and shouldn't be altered. Awesome work mate! Hey there Nikkol I knew I remembered you, I listened to your music before. These tracks are definitely an improvement, and I like the instrumental approach. 🙂 I think I liked Lana more than Carly, because you had many more moments with melody. That's something I would continue to pursue, because without vocals the music could sound kind of empty with just drums and rhythm guitar. I dig the drum parts too! Just make sure to keep practicing your craft because the drums and guitar are out of sync in places. Keep writing and posting, looking forward to hearing more guitar around here 😄

He is not a musician, just fascinated by theory/composition, Henry! I don't mean "really" worn out, it's fun! I just mean I will be relaxing more, watching movies, etc.

This is really weird, but a 24-year-old Ukrainian kid stumbled onto one of my old, old YouTube posts, and he has become a sort of pen pal, and it is taking a lot of my time right now, so I'm often too worn out to keep my promises about listening to things, editing things right away. No biggie, but I'm pretty sure I won't write a piece for at least a couple months as well! No offence meant, of course!

Added more melodic material...I realized this week that I work SO slow b/c I analyze everything so much and don't let myself go and just write lol

This has nothing to do with anything, but the music in this Russian cartoon: МЫШКИ - МАЛЫШКИ. Сказка. СССР.«Киевнаучфильм». Реставрация. is awesome; not the cartoon, it is mediocre. I mean the music! That scraggy be awesome, if I may be permitted to use the colloquial. I can't write that good! Kind of a bit of jazzy Shostakovich in there, but he didn't write it. Might have to "steal" that one!

I still need more ideas for my third sonata. Anyways, @churchcantor did you listen to them yet? (Like the full thing). I can wait though. Don't disappear.

Hey, you know that Ravel once said to Gershwin when Gershwin tried to study composition with Ravel... Gershwin: Yo bro, you seem cool, can I study composition with you? Ravel: Nah... Gershwin: Why not? Ravel: I don't want to teach-... I meant why become an awful Ravel when you could become a perfect Gershwin? Gershwin: %$!@?٪35@DF3#^... Gershwin died of a heart attack. No. Just kidding! But you get the point. And yes, I did enjoy The music.

FWIW, here is one of my own comments I just found and remembered from another piece of mine: Sin boldly is the ancient maxim. If you are going to break that "classical" rule of no parallel fifths, do it deliberately, and do not write them in pure counterpoint! I don't mind first position Rock or Folk chords in the guitar when it is merely accompanying, replete with parallel fifths on the bottom; people are used to that sonority, but when I write a fugue or real counterpoint, of course I avoid them. HOW does your music SOUND?

Didn't listen to it, just glanced over the score! It's really good, just not in a music mood right now. If I listen to anything today, probably something like the Grateful Dead or the Doobie Brothers! I'll get to it eventually; I LOVE clarinet, like C.M.V. Weber! Well, not totally true; I might listen to some of my own stuff yet again. Not "musical masturbation;" I just do it to see if there is anything I might need to change, minor edits.
