  1. I actually like this a lot, excepting the last 3 measures which to be frank, just sound like a mess of notes with no coherent structure. I think you have a good theme here which could use a lot of developing. Primarily when the viola comes in I was waiting for that to actually go somewhere, but then it abruptly cuts out and back to the cello, and ends about as quickly as it began. I don't know how many one minute "conversations" I've had, and this piece is just begging for some more work to be fully fleshed out. I would say that the structure of this piece seems to favor a string trio (Violin, Viola, Cello) over a string quartet, unless you have a really good reason for the extra violin to be there.
  2. I don't know your first version nor the original material. So, I tell you I like the version here. It's pretty nicehow you make the most out of a motivic cell. For me, it's coherent, enjoyable, and it sounds like (neo)romantic. Greetings!
  3. I'm interested in participating. Let's see if I can actually come up with something for this one
  4. I'm in. I need something to push me a little to get the creative juices flowing again.
  5. I agree; I haven't formally thanked the reviewers yet, and I absolutely thank you every word that was written. As much I appreciate the praise, hearing what I could have done better is always enlightening. Again, everyone did a great job; I can't think of a single piece that wasn't a contender, too.
