And it's definitely still my favourite. On the violoncello repertoire, how could I forget 'le cygne'???I love that piece. <3'Twas the last one I performed publicly on the cello, I believe. (I didn't play it that well, then, though... X_x ) It's funny how that piece is considered "cello repertoire"... it's part of a quazi-concerto for two pianos. My favourite cello piece (after my own sonata, of course ;) ) is the Schuman "A Song of Orpheus". And I have rather a weak spot for the first movement of John Williams' cello concerto. Flint Posted November 9, 2007 Share Posted November 9, 2007 Viola concerti can be just as good of pieces as violin or cello pieces.... its a harder instrument to play... harder to get music out of it. Be a good composer and actually write a good piece for the viola.. rather than ignore it.Take heart!
