Journey Through Eriador

Featured Replies

Although not actually composed for a film, I had film music on my mind when I wrote it...

It's a short theme, inspired by the mythical land of Middle Earth if you will...

Eriador... SoundClick artist: Dan Wesley - Film Music Composer...

Yes, film music is hard to avoid nowadays.

Very sweepy melody you have here, I loved the warmth. As it goes up and feel a sense of grandier. I thought the timpani roll was a little weak, myself. I could swear I heard a frilly clarinet before it died down the first time... why not bring it out just a little more? Harp was a nice touch. ;)

Very pretty stuff here, I like it. Thanks for sharing! :)

Hey, thanks for the comment, it's been a little whle since I posted this, I would have thanked you sooner, however I figured my piece got lost in the crowd. :P

The sweepy melody thing was really what I was going for, unfortunately the timpani roll didn't turn out as good as it might have, It's hard to bring the right instruments out sometimes, even with the better Sample Orchestras...

...Anyway it's great to get some feedback...

Thanks again!

I also don't mind this tune. Not too harsh or repetitive and perfectly suitable for "Middle Earth". Although its not Howard Shore I think its great for a "journey" piece - in fact I think Shore's "fellowship" theme is a bit too over the top (especially with the use of brass).... yours is a bit more conservative but probably has a nicer "flow" to it, but it is still appropriate. Oh, and yes the timpani rolls are a bit on the weak side ;)
