Train Hopping

Featured Replies

I wrote this piece for 2 violins, viola, glockenspiel and triangle. Attached is a PDF and Finale file of it. You can listen to the mp3 of it at SoundClick artist: yyoppp - page with MP3 music downloads (It will be called Train Hopping). Enjoy!

I really liked the harmonies and the use of glockenspiel in this. I didn't get why you used triangle, however. It's so similar to glock. that I think it created too much of the same sound all the way through. Which is another thing - it's so short!

I know, I'm tying to find a way to make it longer.

Wow, it's verry beautiful, I think you need to consider the violinist on those minor seconds. Are you sure they can play them?

All the double-stops are playable, although some are awkward and require shifting. The fifths may also be out of tune, depending on the skill of the performer.

I know. I play violin so I have tried it myself and I admit it is very hard to get it in tune, though I don't think I have found anything unplayable.
