Finale's gone crazy!! It's eaten my instruments!!!

Featured Replies

Hi,

So, I was working on this project for school--and I SPECIFICALLY REMEMBER SAVING IT BEFORE I CLOSED THE PROGRAM. Yesterday, I opened it, and half of my instruments were gone.

Completely, absolutely gone.

...help???

You either a) didn't save it, or b) are opening the wrong file.

Have you been feeding your Finale regularly?

It tends to enjoy snacking on particularly urgent homework, and on works that have not been saved recently.

(also, it's a good idea to make a duplicate of your more important files in a second directory or on CD, at a regular interval)

So true... for both statements.

Find the .bak file associated with your project and try opening it up with Finale. If this doesn't get your instruments back then you've learned a valuable lesson.
