Favorite record label

Mine's Hyperion! What's yours?

Tzadik and Ipecac are pretty awesome. Geffen is solid. Caroline Records was alright. Man's Ruin was cool. Rekords Records is ok. Nonesuch is cool. Atavistic's great.

How do you judge what's your favourite record company? By their recording quality? By the performances they record and produce? By the composers they promote? By how many CDs of that record company you have? :x

By their logo design.

What artists they carry? Philosophy of Music? Discography? Pretense?

Yah, roster and overall general quality of output.

Judging from my cd collection, ECM is a clear favorite.

Others include: BlueNote, Tzadik.

NAXOS, EMI, 12k, ECM, AEON, WARP, LMIPCCD (lithuanian music information centre :D, KAIROS, RUNEGRAMMOFON, JAZZLAND and MOHR (my own home records :P

I don't think you can choose a favorite, since each record label specializes in different things. Harmonia Mundi for ancient stuff, Deustche Gramofone for 19th century symphonies, etc.

I second BlueNote
