May 31, 200916 yr Hi folks! I recently had the pleasure of scoring two different videos from the University of Hertfordshire's Digital Animation program. Two different students' final projects now have my name in the credits, and I figured I would show one to you all as well since they're now officially out and being shown on Tuesday. This particular one I'm showing because it has less blatant musical content and more of a precise sound design feel to it. You've all seen enough of my actual musical side, so I figured I'd show some of my soundscaping skills as well. The video is fairly self-evident in terms of mood, and I was given pretty much free-reign in terms of handling it, which was awesome. There are some extremely interesting techniques used to get the various SFX, and the musical elements that ARE included are meaningful. (I can't embed Vimeo videos apparently, so here's a straight link) Verdigris - Game Trailer on Vimeo I hope you enjoy the dark, Steampunk vibe of it all, and feel free to leave me any comments you have. The video's locked, so there won't be any changes (and they loved what I did, so I'm content), but I'm always open to commentary.
May 31, 200916 yr Good job ^^ Good touches when they were needed and didn't distract from the awesome looking game :) I just wish the music was louder when they have that character on the operating table lol. Well done :P
May 31, 200916 yr Music is done perfectly, very tastefully used, not overdone, and the 'operating table' scene didn't use music that sounded overly cliched (so again, very tasteful). Sounds and looks awesome. When can I buy a copy?
June 1, 200916 yr well this is good stuff no doubt, i liked how you didnt go for melodic stuff, but just for what was necessary and in that frame you did a good job, did you write the logo music also for "digital animation" i couldn't see your sounds there somehow?
