Ballade for Piano and Four Stringed Instruments

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

This is a work that I wrote furiously in about a week, but I feel that it ranks among some of my best compositions for smaller ensembles. It utilizes many techniques that have become very important aspects of my style -- jazz harmonies, chromatic melodies, rapid time signature changes, and a rather "dreamy" atmosphere. I hope you enjoy it. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I always love a score!

As I stated in my other thread, I prefer not to post scores because I intend to sell them on my website soon. I too prefer to use scores when critiquing a piece, but still, music is first and foremost an aural art form, so I still think it is possible to give a decent review of a piece without having to *see* it. When one goes to a concert, for instance, how often does one ask for a score to accompany the performance?

Just a few thoughts. I would still appreciate any feedback.

I can't reach your link to the piece and I can't reach your website. Maybe it's me, maybe the links. Could you check them?

Hmm... it works for me, and I've received a comment on it on another forum. What browser do you use?

I use internet explorer. The pop-up window, after i click the link, doesn't 'evolve' into your page. I don't know..

Did anybody else have a problem with the link?

yes, and I use internet explorer too

Was anybody able to listen to this? This is the first time I've had any problems with my website reported.

Well, I could open your other link. So it's probebly just this link.

Maybe if you try selecting it manually from the following link?

Sorry for the inconvenience!

The first link worked fine for me.

There isn't much feedback I can give, but I really loved this.

The link on the page itself is still dead. I can open the list of works, but not the link to the music.

That's really strange. It works fine for me. It could be IE. I'm using firefox.

It's a very interesting and dynamic piece. I like how the mood seems to change through the piece, perhaps telling a story. I like it very much!
