AUGUST MONTHLY COMPETITION!!! WOOO HOOOOOO!!!! THE EXPRESSIONIST COMPETITION!

Start: NOW! What are you waiting for???

End: September 5th.

Results: September 10th.

Purpose: Create a composition that evokes an emotion. You should disregard ALL musical theory and just try to picture the emotion you want.

Rules:

1. It must be under 5 minutes, but no less than 3 minutes.

2. It may be for ANY combination of instruments. This includes a choir or voice.

3. The SOLE factor on which this competition is based is: Creativity and passion.

4. The piece does NOT need to have audio with it, if you so choose. It can be just a score. Like I said, creativity is the POINT.

WHY this stye of competition? Because in the July competition, I found people with BOUNDARIES looking to escape them. So now is your chance. As long as you aren't apathetic, you will do well in this competition. remember, this is not a test of who KNOWS the best, it is a competition of who can COMMUNICATE the best. This is an Expressionist Competition.

There will be THREE Judges, including me, so two others will judge.

Ooh, really REALLY good idea! This is a great composing exercise... try and write a short cue for each of these. I'm not sure which of these I'll do yet... I usually write music, then decide what it evokes, then consciously pursue what I subconsciously started.
