Thanks! If I might ask, could this be moved from archives to Orchestral in our new forum?

Ok, first:

The midi really doesn't do your music justice. I've listened to it in it's midi form, and then listened to lit converted into Sib. form, and the difference is very big in quality. You should definitely find a way to create an mp3 of your music instead of midi, which I think has caused some people to not "get" your music.

1st movement:

I like the overall tone of the piece, but a small criticism: Measures 22-25 seem completely pointless! It's an annoying sound, repeated for emphasis for no reason, in my opinion. I think you may want to consider revising that small part!

2nd movement:

Very dark and atmospheric...not exactly pleasant, but I can accept it :) It straddles a line between tonality and atonality very well, causing a unique and unsettling atmosphere without disregarding melodic tone. Nice. But, again, on measure 51 to the end, (the last 10 seconds or so) a grinding noise emerges, and ingrains itself into the ear until it screams, NO more! I think you can find a better way to make a transition into your next movement.

3rd movement:

My favorite so far: this is more traditional than most of your work, and it suits you well. The rhythms and cohesion of the 3 strings really works. Most would comment on the length, but it's short length doesn't bother me, as long as it is suitably expanded on in later movements.

4th movement:

And it is! I like this even more: it twists the happier, more traditional feel of the 3rd, and throws in some unsettling vibes that add real color to it, just a little bit. Then the pluckier (literally and figuratively) theme in the middle is really fitting, because it adds diversity to the movement: it gives the listener something else to chew on.

5th movement:

This is a nice direction you took out of the 4th movement. It has a grand feel to it, almost as though it were played in Presto, even though it's not. For some reason, measure 34 stands out to me as particularly well done: I think it's the gradual transition back into "dark" territory, then turning back around in the last few measures, that does it for me. Very good!

6th movement:

Very clever! The "rounds" the instruments take are very nicely done, and give an undeniable coolness factor to the piece. But...it doesn't have a very satisfying conclusion... just, DUN! That's it?

All in all, this is very good, but to reiterate, please find a way to use better midi and upload mp3s, your pieces deserve, and in fact require, much more. Thanks for uploading, I enjoyed this very much! :)

About movement one: I put that chord in there because, well I wanted a cool chord there. Then I really liked it so I repeated it.

If you haven't noticed, I do like repetitive things ;) :P

I decided to end with a short note at the end because I had long notes. I like a contrast at the very end

Thanks again for commenting!

Music is all about repetition, so yeah, that's fine in the big picture, and it's not exactly a big deal about the ending, so all in all it's a really good listen :D But I insist you find a way to get better midi, or maybe find a way to upload an mp3, because I wouldn't have said the same things I did because of the mediocre sound quality: I had way to enhance it enough it really hear what you wanted me to hear instead of what the midi was grinding out, xD

Ugh....I've tried and tried to make mp3s. About .000000000000001 percent of the time it works. The rest of the time it doesn't work, the computer crashes, the screen gets stuck, or I loose the file

I haven't tried in about a month, since that time the computer crashed with a checksum error...

Okay thanks.. but what's Sample Width, bits Sound System, Instrument Set, Anti-Alias, and

MP3 Bit Rate?

I'm not the person who knows these things  :ermm:

I feel your pain man :( I have no clue about that: the way I do it is use Sib to make a wav, then just convert the wav to an mp3. I think an MP3 bit rate is about 128K/sec or something, but I'm not sure. Don't worry, not knowing all this techno-stuff just makes you normal :P Haha!

Maybe if you posted your specific situation on a forum on a help site, you'd be walked through it better?

Perhaps... I can try to make them, and it probably will work on the.............*guesses* 100th time :)

Computers will do that: I've had computers where I'll try to start an application, or .exe file, and the first few times it won't work, but then I just double-click it about 30 times (literally), and it'll suddenly decide to work <.< Very annoying!
