It's cold and that's a problem !

Featured Replies

Well when I practice (guitar or bass) at home that's not really a problem cause it's heated ! but when I get with the guys to reverse or when I play in open spaces my hands gets really clod and a bit out of control too(+ it hearts like hell when I'm playing chords (rhythmic-guitar) !! :blink:

I've tried wearing gloves (but i can't pick) and even the "half"-gloves with just half of my fingers covered...the extremities hurts when playing chords !!

so please if you have some technique to warm you hands up while playing or something let me know !

Wearing gloves everytime you're outside, and pumping your hands when you take them off or are in a cold environment prior to playing helps me. By pumping I mean squeezing your hands very hard as if you were squeezing a rubber duck

You should take up Keytar. Playing chords will be so much easier.

@bryla: tan'x ill try that ! :)

@Doovongeman: well that's a thought.... but may be after a year or tow ! ^^' .... plus I like the guitar sound better

Yeah, it's called manning up. Make sure your practice space isn't perfectly heated or cooled - no gig will be. It'll either be really cold because of the building or hot under the lights.

Live, learn, then realize that being a gigging musician is hard, painful, and requires not the least bit of booze.

Hear, hear!

Why would anyone want to play outside in the first place? The cold and hot ruin the sound and humidity makes the strings go down and the dryness makes it go up.

Is it required that you go outside, Raed? And if so, I don't really know how you would warm your hands while outside without gloves. It probably only takes some practice.

well besides from playing outdoors (which do not happen that often by the way!) we practise in our school's class room 28 (by the way it doesn't look like any class room!! it's a biiiiiiiiiig empty room with like 100 window (half of them is broken !! ) and with no heating so when we practise sometimes it gets to 53 Fahrenheit !!! and about the strings don't worry I re-tune them every day..

so apart from pumping my hands or (like my band members advised me) stick my hand up my a** xD do you have something that really works ??
