A happy tune that could play in the background of a happy scene.I was inspired with this piece while I passed a house I used to live in, years ago.I'll see about uploading a score soon.

The Road Home

Happy! Though maybe not quite as upbeat as I was expecting, but then who am I to be expecting anything? What media were you thinking this would fit with? Game or Film?

I'm thinking more video game than film: the tone is something that would have fit in a movie made long ago, but I can't see it being in any movie today.

This sounds as a sweet melody, I still miss extra instruments/dynamics, etc. Please try and improve this piece by adding many instruments with different lines (counter-melody, etc). I am curious what will happen with this melody when you try to support it with many instruments!

I actually have already done as you suggested in another piece I've uploaded here recently, called The Soldier's Journey. I use it as a beginning theme and ending theme (but most of the piece is completely original). You can check it out if you want, to see what I did

The cool thing about this one is that I never feared for my computer. There was not a hint of it being destroyed because of this piece.

But I do miss a bit more instrumentation in this. The lines are a little too simple to stay limited in timbre.

Did you read what I wrote above? This piece is sort of meant to be foreshadowing for The Soldier's Journey, and it has some more instrumentation.

This sounds kind of like a Zimmer romantic comedy score excerpt except more simplistic. I would have liked to hear you do something other than repeated arpeggios....because that's basically all this is. It's not ugly by any stretch of the imagination, but it is pretty dull and static....could use some livening up if you're coming back to it.

Thanks very much for commenting! But again, (please read above posts!) I realize that this is simplistic (not simple), and it is intended for a background. But it is also foreshadowing of another piece I made called "The Soldier's Journey" that I've uploaded to the Chamber Music forum, and it very much expands on the theme here for more than background music (at least in my opinion). If you want to or have time, by all means check it out!

Hey cool piece! The feeling is fine for me however the CHORD after CHORD after CHORD got a little tedious for me, however that may also be because of your MIDI. It's really coooooool!!

Oh I know, Serge, I'd read your comments above, but the fact that it's background music does not excuse it from needing a certain level of depth. You can still write very interesting music without having it be obtrusive. It does foreshadow your to-be-developed-later thematic material, I just wish you had gone a bit further in terms of crafting this background music. I'll get to the other piece too!

Nice! It's simple. Very simple. Could improve with more chord changes and textural variety. However it's definitely got the nostalgic, lonely road type of feeling, but it's pleasant and positive, feels good to listen to it. Keep it up! Definitely more chordal changes though!
