Welcome to YC.

This is a nice piece to introduce yourself with. IF you could edit your post and add the libraries and programs you used to produce this, it would help our members get to know what's out there a bit better.

It also helps if you comment in other posts here. Many of our members will return the favor.

thanks

its gonna take me a while to upload the score cause i just kinda played it in cubase and when i tried to export it to midi it looks all unorganized and chaotic

Heya!

Welcome to YC!

This is a nice piece. I quite like the rhythm and the sense of scale, but there are some problems I had with it that I want to outline for you.

First off, the sequencing needs some work. Especially with the percussion, you have repeated hits that sound extremely mechanical and unrealistic — you can tell it's the same sample being triggered. Spend a little more time sequencing the MIDI or use different samples to get some more realism out of this. That goes for other instrumental sections as well. That also brings up a point about your writing, which is extremely stale. This piece was 4 minutes long and it would have lost nothing whatsoever if you'd cut it in half. Even more. The instrumental sections all do the same thing relentlessly, there's almost no development whatsoever, there's no variation in the rhythm, the mood, the instrumentation...anything. Even as looping background music, this would get grating very very fast. Change up your instruments, screw with the rhythms, anything to break up the monotony.

From the mixing perspective, you have a pretty decent space going, but the instruments all sound like they're coming from the same place — a big pile right in front. Use your panning and EQ and reverb settings to "place" the instruments properly on the virtual stage or you'll never be able to get a convincing sound out of your mock-ups. I recommend listening to some orchestral scores for reference, just to see the way that the instruments produce sound, where it comes from, how it interacts with the other instruments, etc etc.

Beyond those things though, your piece is a nice effort. Keep writing and work on polishing your skills and exploring them — experiment a little and define a unique sound for yourself or you'll never be competitive in today's market.

Yikes, Marius is correct in particular about the instruments needing panning: everything being put right in front of you really doesn't work O)O

As for the music itself, it is very cool! I like the overall sound, but again, Marius is right: it starts to drag even at just the half-way point! This piece requires more development and exploration to justify it's length.

Thanks for sharing, nice work! ;)
