Sibelius - different keys and time signatures

Featured Replies

No, I have no problem with the dots, ... actually the Tokke example is not what a true 6/8 + 2/4 would be,

or every 6/8 bar would be shorter..

Check this out:

Ups, I couldn't put the image here, it says "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board" .... well check the attached pic...

This "NoteWorthyComposer" is soooo ignorant about music that can be useful sometimes laugh.gif

Yeah, my example was a bad one....

Does Noteworthy actually play all that stuff back correctly?

Yes, is like a midi files without barlines, it does play it, (but MIDI only, there's VST support or such)

But as you can see, the software doesn't check all the nonsence I wrote, it only insert whatever I ask..

Back when I started composing I used noteworthy. I totally learned how to count up my beats in that damn program since NOTHING is automatic.

But the good thing is you can really see how the rhythms work since it lets you do whatever.

yeah, nothing is Automatic, you have to insert the barline manually that's why It allowed me to do those incoherent bars,

I used too, in 2001-2003 I was really fast writing actually, then Sibelius showed up and I throw that thing away.

For those who wants to write crasy stuff that program may work for you, the only true limiting is the impossibility of other tuplets that 3, (6,9) but not 5,7,10,2 etc....

Also the page setup is automatic and can not be changed, like the "Page break" or "Middle of System" ... very often you find ugly large bars when printing, and it doesn't work at all for orchestral works ... maybe piano pieces.

But may be a very useful easy sequencer,

how about the first and second violions in 4/4, the viola in 3/4, and the cello in 6/8? how can that be done?

I could do it by adding time signatures as text, delete hide barlines, add new barlines as symbols, and align every single thing manually, then you input a note and everything gets moved, nah, is a complete mess, you'll take you up to the next year to complete whatever you're writting...

They say Finale can do it, try to get a copy of it, or do it by hand and scan you pages :dunno:

Always never notes BEFORE symbols.
