i wish you the best !!

Welcome newcomers...

@ Gold - I'm going to buy you a new keyboard, because apparently several of your buttons - including the "shift" key - are malfunctioning on your current one.... ;)

I'm Silva. This is Gould. Is there a Mr. Turtle around here?

*raises hand*

Hello to the world of young composers! i am indika from sri lanka. i am doing music since i was tall enough for the keyboard. i like to share my knowledge with you.i will come with more ideas later.Till then good bye!

Hi to all

My name is Gidon, I am a composer living in Israel.

I have been composing on and off since age 14.

only at age of 25 (today 32) I was given the oppertunity to compose for an Opera.

Never left since then. I love composing and now trying to get into the movie business internationaly.

and that's more or less about me.... I think....

Hi my name is Brandon Maahs. Music is a huge part of my life.

Im a trumpet, guitar, piano, bass player and a composer. I'm 15, live in Texas, and compose rock songs for my band Almost Even (Almost Even - Powered by CO.CC) and concert pieces for fun.

Hope you enjoy my music! :)

Well, I've had a crazy dream for the past month, that I want to compose a few Masses (Requiem, Coronation, Solemn, Nuptial, you name it!), but I know that I really am horrible at such things, but God-willing, I will one day finish at least one Mass....I'll turn to my Rosary like Haydn if I don't succeed at first. I mainly stick to Baroque music but Romantic is good once in a while (Wagner for the win!). I'll probably not post to often, just read around and get some advice.

Hi, I'm Marc. I play the clarinet, sax, and piano.

I thought I'd give this composing thing a try

See you around.

Hey, I'm Nick...

I'm a sophomore in high school, and I play piano (9th year) and alto sax (7th year).

i doubt anyone will read this, but...here's a link to my youtube channel. I have a few compositions up there, and a bunch of piano videos.

I don't feel like giving my real name because that's just how I am. I've been interested in composing since I was about 13 but I've just started now, at age 17. I've had piano lessons on and off since I was 10. 2 years bad instruction, a break, three years good instruction. I have no idea what I'm doing with this whole composing thing so I'll probably be really annoying here.

Hello Young Composers,

I'm Tobias, living in Switzerland. I'm a fanatic amateur pianist (a few recordings on Youtube so far: YouTube - pianovirus's Channel), interested in everything from Bach to Ligeti.

For years I have had the dream of composing piano music on my own. Finally I have enough time at my hands to pursue this intensively. I hope to learn from, and share experiences with, other folks on this site here!

Looking forward to good discussions,

pianovirus/Tobias.

Hi My name is Andrew Silagy, just graduated from Calarts.

Check out my work! Andrew Silagy

Hi, I'm Jim, 16.

Started composing when I was about... um... 9 (maybe 10?). Anyway, I've written two sinfonias, I'm about 1/4 of the way done with my first symphony, and I've written various standalone compositions.

I like to keep an open heart and an open mind when it comes to music - I've written in many different styles, including baroque, classical, and romantic, jazz and band, various forms of rock, and techno and electronic. I've even written some Gregorian-sounding 'chants'.

My current 'work'? I've volunteered my services to compose the score for Battlestar Armada - it's a modification for the game Star Trek: Armada II set in the world of Battlestar Galactica.

I'm currently looking at music colleges and I hope to go into scoring for films and video-games.

You can check out my Newgrounds' profile (I've got some music there) by clicking here or my YouTube page.

Hey, I'm Brandon. I am almost a sophomore in High school (1 week left!). I have been self taught at composing for about 2-3 years now. Most of my music is Full orchestra scores with alot of fast, dramatic effects. Anyway, check out some of my songs as I post them (if you want).

Welcome to the Forum, Brandon. I listened to some of your music and liked it. :)

Hey I'm Garrett, I'm sixteen and about to be a junior in high school. My two primary instruments are piano and snare drum with some guitar and mallet instruments and a hint of bamboo flute thrown in just to see what it is like.

Looking forward to participating in this forum.

HI! I'm jake. I'm a musician/composer from england. I study at surrey university, though used to study at berklee. I primarily write chamber music but want to branch out a bit more.

Well im Gil, I live in Jerusalem (which is in Israel) and Im 18 years old. Im about to join the army very soon for 3 years, mostly because its the law.

I consider myself a visual artist and a musician. I've been drawing since I was born or something and have studied art in several schools. However, for unfortunate reasons, I wasnt able to graduate as an art major.

I've also been playing the guitar for 5 years or so, but never studied music. Or, in fact, how to play the guitar. I have quite a few friends who studied music in the best school in the country (I s*** you not) and who have taught me a lot about music in the technical level. Everything else I know I have "learned" by myself through experiencing and listening, and I think thats a good thing. Since I dont have a technical and perhaps systematic approach towards music I think my music is more personal and from the heart, as cheesy as it may sound.

And I like it, which I think is the most important thing.

I use Guitar Pro 5... hehe.. I write Metal and - thats right - Electronic. I've been aching for a better program but for now Im using what GuitarPro has to offer.

I'm Aaron, I live in the U.K. but am also a citizen of the U.S. and I'm 19 years old. I play the Drums and Piano, but I do not compose for these instruments; I compose digitally for orchestral ensembles. I've been to college and studied Music and Music Technology, and will begin studying Music Composition and Technology at the University of Hertfordshire in September '09.

The main style I'd like to achieve in my compositions is that of Hans Zimmer, other huge influences are John Williams, Steve Jablonsky and Klaus Badelt.

My main career intention is composing and producing film music, but I'd also like to write for any other kind of visual media; I like the idea of Children's Television.

I am yet to compose a piece for live performers and hear it being played; this is something I'd like to do at University, just to not be 100% Music Technology based.

Oh yeah and I have Asperger's Syndrome :P.

Hi, I'm Brandon from Homewood, Alabama.

I play the piano, clarinet, and tuba; I arrange various video game & movie themes for piano accurately, but I struggle with coming up with my own songs...

I've just graduated from high school, and I'm planning on majoring in both Computer Science & Music Composition @ Birmingham-Southern College.

Yellow! Wow that was dorky :c)

Yeah ... I'm Skye. Preeeetty koooool ... but only 'Star Keeper' would get the reason for that.

I'm from NZ. Yup.

I've been composing since I was thirteen. Not so long ago ... in fact hardly any time at all! I've written a couple of songs, but I'll probably only post the ones like. The ones I've written are for flute, B flat clarinet and piano.

Ummmm ... I'm a flautist. I started when I was ... an age. I don't know! I think it was 06. But don't let that taint your opinion of my ability. Flute's kinda easy. Flautist is how you write it, isn't it? And I've just started violin.

So, yeah. Au revior, mes amis!

Hi,

I have posted sometimes (maybe 3 posts...) but I've never introduced myself.

I am Francesco, 23 years old, italian (I live in Rome but I'm native of Bari) and I am a final year student (electric bass, pop-rock master course) in a private school of music/theater/photography based in Rome. I'm currently studying composing and arranging in the same school, after having passed all the music theory classes.

As a musician I feel myself both a player and a composer/arranger, and I think it's a good think because when I play I care about song and not about just showing my skills, and when I compose/arrange music I always try to write the most readable score that I can.

Greetings from Rome!

Hello, my name is Ajay Randhawa. I am a composer and am studying several genres currently. I have a strong backbone in Classical Indian music, Panjabi Folk. I am learning Jazz and Western Classical Music at the moment. I am also into futuristic IDM music with rich sounds. I have been composing for over 7 years now.

I play the Piano, Keyboards and many Indian Ethnic Instruments such as Tabla, Dhol, Dholki, Algozey, Bul Bul Tarang (Indian Banjo) & Harmonium. I am also a drum programmer.
