WELCOME! Good to have you here. ;)

WELCOME! Good to have you hear. ;)

SAY IT... YOU MISSED ONE IMPORTANT CLAUSE!!!

Just a quick Hi and Hello to everyone! I was a member on here previously, but never had time to visit...the story of my life.

But I'm back and happily so.

Brief bio:

My name is Dan, and I'm currently in college working on a degree in Music Composition. Well, actually I'm between schools right now, and about to audition for Berklee in Boston, University of Texas at Austin and possibly the University of Southern California.

My eventual career plan? Film composer and conductor. In my spare time, I also love working in the world of Musical Theatre.

Looking forward to chatting with all of you,

Dan

Hello Young Composers!

I discovered this forum a couple weeks ago. I don't know what I can really say about myself other than I'm an aspiring creator (well, writer of music in this case :) ) who hopes my experience here will be great. It's always kind of nerve-racking joining a new forum. :/

I've been playing trombone for six years, and for the past two years I've been noodling on the piano (which is what brought me into composition). I've recently started getting much more into theory, but I suppose it concerns me that I never really had any musical education when I was younger.

Anyway, I love to learn but I hope I don't end up as one of the newbies who only asks questions haha.

Welcome!!

You can start music theory at any time and be equally successful. There are some people who didn't start until they were in college! Or even later, and can be better composers than somebody who started when they were 3 (Heckel... Lol).

It doesn't matter when you start! Have fun here!

Thank you Morivou! I feel more at peace now.

I'm looking forward to getting more involved with the forum here. :)

Welcome everyone.

Thanks Jen for fixing that typo. I was on a computer with no screen...it broke...I have it plugged in to a TV using a S-Video cable :P Can't really see well enough to correct my spelling XD

Hello to all! I'd love to start getting acquainted to all those on the forum! (composer or not, but preferably the composers)

I'm an amateur high-school student composer myself, independently studying music theory...

I can tinkle on a piano (I can't play it, I lack multi-coordination :/ Oh, and don't take tinkle the wrong way >.<)

I also play all low brass instruments... well, I honestly am stuck on the Bass Trombone atm (so I think the phrase "can play all low brass instruments" would be more preferable)

And apparently I have a recently discovered ability to sing... really loud and in-tune :/

I hope to be more of a video-game/movie refined composer... though, Band/Choral composition does intrigue me... it's just seemingly harder... lol

I've composed a few relatively simple pieces so far. They're decent sounding, but like I said, SIMPLE.

Hello All. I'm an almost 17 year old who has been playing piano for 8 years, and composing for about 6. I also played trumpet for a bit, although I didn't enjoy it.

Hopefully I'll be able to make a living as a musician as I don't enjoy anything else as much.

I use rhythmic themes quite often and almost all of my works are composed through improvisation. This forum definitely seems like an interesting place so I'm very excited to share and discuss works.

Hi I am Seyhan. I am from turkey. I am a piano teacher in a music school. I am married. and I have a son. good day everybody..

Welcome you three! I hope you enjoy it here!

Better than someone who was 3 when they started, eh Morivou? Well.... :P (har har, joker time! :P)

Hello you all.

I watched this forum for over a year and now I decided to register here. I was worried

about being not good enough as a composer to participate.

I was composing for three years, but only for myself and without a teacher.

(So I'm as bad as in the beginning...)

My favourite instrument is the concert guitar. I have been playing (and learning)

this instrument for almost ten years. If anyone has a composition for guitar

to be recorded, I can possibly help.

I don't know exactly what my compositional style is,

but I think it's near to classic.

So, that's me...

(Sorry for my bad english, it's not my native language.)

WELCOME TO YC! :yc:

A man of few words Mike! May your compositions be successful.

I have sung in choirs and played violin in community orchestras for many years and taught violin way back.

I recently joined a church orchestra, playing largely improvised (and amplified!) string parts but have found the need to arrange more and more.

Working on arrangements of popular works for string quartet to build a repertoire of popular and appropriate music for weddings and gigs. I hope to share some of this when the occasion presents

Welcome!

Welcome people.. YC is fun. Its fun to contribute to the wiki too. ;) (hint, hint)

Greetings everyone!

My name is Johnny, I live in the U.K and I am 15 years old and I'm studying normally in Secondary School at the moment.

Though I feel intimidated it is also an honour to join this forum amongst the best of composers. Confessably, I have been spectating over the forum for a while before I having decided to officially join, today.

I love to compose and I am hoping to contribute work to soon.

Thanks!

Welcome, welcome!

Ed McMahon: HEEEERRRRREEEEESSSSS JOHNNY!

Omar Sanchez: Yeah, what he said. Welcome Johnny!

Hello there,

My background is a guitarist interested mainly in rock music. I write songs and sing and try to play bass and keyboard too - with varying levels of success. I'd like to write interesting instrumental music and I have a lot to learn about compositional theory. The classical composers I like are Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Prokofiev. If you want to hear one of my 'rock' compositions you'll find it here.
