I love the kazoo! I swear, it's one of the most not-paid-attention-to'ed (yes, I make up words) instruments =(

My Musical journey began at a very young age, learning the Tabla, Guitar and Harmonium at the age of 6, playing in an entire classical atmosphere gave me a strong knowledge on rhythm, melody and counts. As years passed by music became more and more digital, at 18 I learnt Dj

My name is Keith Mitchell. I am primarily a classical vocalist (Tenor) from Jamaica, although I do sing Jazz and some other styles. I began writing songs and arranging and composing at an early age, but with respect to scoring the music I have composed or arranged, I really started doing that in 2004. I have studied Tonal harmony, and so I am aware of many of the rules and conventions associated with that type of Theory. However, I prefer a more intuitive approach, where whatever I am feeling at the time of inspiration, I try to translate to a musical score. Much of my music tends to have a sort of Modern Baroque feel (reminiscent of H

Just began composing a year ago. I love video game music, especially Hamauzu and Sakimoto. My composing style is completely influenced by them and Yoko Kanno.

I play piano (for 16 years now) but I'm graduating as chemical engineer now.

Hello, it's great to be here! I hope to contribute a significant amount & thanks for having me.

Greetings, vinayaka, Keith, Albert, and jen. I look forward to your contributions here!

Hello Hopper, are you a real conductor? If so I'm really honored! I wanted to go into the music business as a pianist/composer but, I preferred a steady job earning lots of money. Well, you have to choose things in life... That's why I compose till I fall down, just to pretend I'm a composer. :D

I hate to disappoint you, but no, I'm not - I used that picture as my profile picture because it shows the energy and passion that I have for music. It makes me excited just by looking at it...

hello,

I started my music hobby by playing on the piano. then I switched to the keyboard which I am using now. I composed about 20 music pieces. They are not recorded yet or written, but I can play them from my memory. I need to be heard by vetrans who are able to help me. It's a pleasure to be a member at your esteemed entity. Thank you.

My music sounds more oriental. As I am just beginning to introduce my music perhaps I need professionals who are in this business to listen and evaluate.

I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for part of the year - the rest I spend in Virginia at my farm. My farm is located just west of Emporia.

My longest piece of music, I called "The Blue Nile." Another sweet melody, I named "The Eternal Victory," illustrates the victorious Church raptured on the clouds by holy angels. I have about 20 in all. The last one I finished five days ago which I named "Nardie, my Love."

Hi my names Chris, I'm 20 & I've played guitar since I was 9, I've writen stuff for most of that time, in fact I'm writing something right now, a piece for 4 acoustic guitars..

Hi,I'm Ile Spasev from Macedonia.I study Music Academy in Skopje(capital city of Macedonia).I'm not study composition but I compose music in my free time.I like very much this forum,I think it's very helpfuly.

Hi, I'm Nate and I hail the town of Dumfries on the tail end of the DC suburbs in Northern VA. I'm 18, and I'm studying composition with Ron Holz at Asbury College in Wilmore, KY. Prior to that, I studied jazz harmony and orchestration with C. Bryan Kidd, the staff composer/arranger for the US Navy Band. I've been musicking as long as I can remember (although I was never really good at it until high school). I'm a saxophone player, and as part of the career, I'm required to double flute and clarinet. I also sing bass-baritone.

As far as composition itself goes, my main influences are Stravinsky, Honegger, Ravel, Debussy, and Palestrina (I don't know how that happened). My emphasis right now lies with sacred choral music and music for the stage. Right now I'm working on a dance cantata for choir and percussion ensemble (yes, I got the idea for instrumentation from Les Noces) based on the Divine Comedy; that is my main project, along with a mass for stage band and show choir. All that is in addition to assignments and various other things I feel like writing.

It's nice to have found a group of people who are as fired-up about inventing music as I am; I trust this will be a pretty neat experience.

Hey. I'm Martin. I'm 17 and I live in Northern California. I'm studying music at American River College in Sacramento. It's my 1st semester there and after my 4th semester, I plan to transfer to CSUS and study Composition. I am a percussionist. But, since I've started college, I've been picking up on the piano.

I really know don't know anything about composition except what I've learned this semester. Hopefully i will be able to learn from some of you on here.

Hi. By day I'm a high school English teacher, and by night (when not grading essays!) I play classical guitar and compose. So far, I've only composed solo guitar pieces in an atonal neo-Baroque style. I like combining Baroque forms (chaconne, passacaglia, toccata, etc) with atonal harmony. My pieces are aimed at super-virtuosos, and sadly, I can't actually play them. I'll post a few right away.

i am a huge final fantasy music fan (i cant help it, i love RPG music!)

this looks like a great forum and community to be a part of and I am happy im here! (:w00t:)

hello,

im nick and i am a percussionist. i have been playing percussion since i have been in 7th grade and its probibly going to be my career choice. Im only in 10th grade but im getting serious early. Most of the kids in my school have no passion and dont even want to be at after school practice and things of that sort. its frustrating but i konw my hard work will pay off when i try to become a music teacher. im trying to start my music theory lessons early as well. the way i figure it is that if i get off on the right foot, i wont regret it. Drumming, its not what i do, its who i am.

anybody write for solo piano, or smaller chamber groups with piano? send me your website.

Hi everyone!

Hey there,

I'm Danny, and I'm a high school senior from a suburb of Chicago. I write a few different genres of music, but mainly musical theatre. I just finished writing a musical that is being workshopped at my school in early June. I will be majoring in Music Education at the University of Michigan next year. I'd love to talk to some of you, so shoot me an email or PM, or just friend me on myspace or facebook. :)

You can hear some of my music here: www.myspace.com/daaboschmusic

Hi Danny, I'm a high school senior too. Musical theatre is fun. I was Liesl in The Sound of Music last year. Ooo what is your musical about? I'm intrigued :)

Well, I hope you have fun here at YC
