Hi,

I have been a hobby composer for a long time. I also have some modest ability to play piano, clarinet and recorder. Mostly these days I have been composing on the computer. I have used early versions of Csound but I find writing scores with notes on a staff is easier. Right now I am using NoteWorthy Composer but maybe I will upgrade to something better one of these days.

Welcome Ammar, Esteban, and Euler! I'm Ashleigh from Grand Junction Colorado.

I'm glad I found this sight too, it's much better than getting stupid forwards on yahoo emial.

It's such a releif to know that no matter what I do, that I won't be attacked by some sock hungry unicorn that will come eat everything in my underwear drawer when I'm sleeping.

(what a load off)!

Lol

Alright, I'll let this one slide. Don't let it happen again.

I just made my first song on finale. I was playing it when my sister came in and told me it sounded like a pig wrestling a saxaphone, so I'll have it ready pretty soon!

After i make some...modifications.

Impressive use of italics.

Hi, I play the 'cello in the Seattle Youth Symphony and at school. I've taken 'cello lessons for two years, and piano lessons for ten years. I used to compose a lot more, but schoolwork gets in the way.:P

Hey, I am Goldenberger. I just started composing about a year ago when I went to Blue Lake where I played percussion, now i play all band instruments except for oboe, bassoon, and berry saxaphone.

...i play all band instruments except for ...berry saxaphone.

Sounds delicious.

...

Mmmmm....berry saxophone. Does it grow on a bell tree?

Hello!

I'm Alex, known as Laogeodritt online, a 15- (almost 16-) year-old high school student. While I am not aspiring to study in music as a career, music has always been an important part of my life and, in these last few months, has outgrown art as being my main hobby and passion.

As for my musical background: overall, I have some eight years experience in music. I began on the violoncello at age seven, and continued on for five years; when we moved, I had to give up the cello (the instrument was rented) and circumstances caused me to be unable to acquire another. A year later, I took up the clarinet in the school band and also acquired a keyboard that Christmas. (I've only had two opportunities to touch a real piano though.) I've also begun playing the trumpet a little these last two weeks.

As far as composition goes, I'm, at best, a complete amateur. I've picked up the basics of musical notation from playing those various instruments, along with a little bit on chords and chord progressions and I read a few online documents on composition. However, otherwise, my knowledge of musical theory and instrumentation is null, and experience practically zero. While I've been dabbling in composition and arrangement for the last year and a half or so, I've never gotten much time to do so and most of the pieces I've started I ended up scrapping.

The genres of music I most enjoy are classical, modern orchestral/symphonic (especially movie and RPG video game soundtracks

Hello Alex and goldenburger!

Alex, compared to some yours is perfectly normal!

Hiya, I'm Tony. I will be an entering freshman to Elizabethtown college this coming fall. I how been composing music for about 6 years. I am currently writing a musical based on the events that took place during the kosovo war. My main objective as a composer is to explore the depths of our humanity in all of our circumstances.

Welcome tony, sounds... deep. I look forward to hearing some of your music.
