Well.. My name is Munchi

18 years old

im actualy a producer not a composer

not even playing a instrument.

i love all kinds of music

but the one thing i wasnt intrested in was classic music.

not a long time ago i began lisning to Phillip Glass his work on the truman show.

since than ive began to lisnen all kinds of classic music

and also soundtracks of movies for example the OST of Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer.

I Loved that one also.

I like the .. well how should i put this

Creepy, Vampire-ish, Horror-ish, classical music :) i dont know what its called.

Like with a lot of Harpiscord and Church Organs.

I dont know if someone here knows them. Nox Arcana or someting like that.

That sort of music.

or the more emotional like, that you can feel the sadness you know.

So i was lookin on the internet if i could find the soundtrack of Spirited Away.

than i found this site.

n i decided to become member.

i hope you all can introduce me to some new music,

and help me find some compositions that i dont know the names of.

since ive been lisening to classic music ive began to use it with my own productions and i find myself alot more inspired than before.

im going to learn how to play piano this year

and ive been learning a bit of guitar now.

well i think thats enough introduction right ;)

Welcome to the forum, Munchi. :o

Please, please stick around. No one else does. They're afraid of Tomas and Sapphire.

What really helps in getting accepted around here is using proper grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. Whatev. Just some food or thought.

Hello, my name is Chancellor, I play the viola and I've been composing for about 3 years.

Which sucks. We lose alot of potential awesome people.

So far we need replacements for Giselle, Marisa, Bitterduck, Galt, Anders (:whistling:), and, temporarily, Marius.

and Humnab, David, Michelle, Beeri, Stefan Inglis, Poehler (OK maybe not), Nico and Jeremiah Hong (yup)

Poehler was cool, but Hong?

Anyways. Welcome Chancellor. :P

I hope you're here to stay. :whistling:

Poehler was pretty annoying. Jeremiah was so annoying it got funny.

Please post some music, I'm interested to see if you can back up your claims :musicwhistle:

True. Some people here don't react too well to others self-praising.

On the other hand, I've got plenty of people to acclaim, not just myself.

Yes, I definitely look foward to showing my movie work here soon.

My name is Mike and I'm 18. But you'd probably better stick to aerlinndan so we don't confuse me with our wonderful board operator. :) Anyway, I just graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy, where I was a music composition major for three years. I played trombone for several years before 10th grade but piano is my principal instrument. I have played it since I was five but only in the past two years have I truly gotten serious about it.

I'm going to start a thread for my recordings and my performances soon. Very soon. Just as soon as I get around to it. I did a senior recital at my school in May and I played Bach, Beethoven, and Ravel, and a few of my compositions were performed. I, like Nick, also like to talk a lot, and I love hearing compositions of other young people like us.

IF YOU NEED A PIANIST TO RECORD YOUR PIECE LIVE, I AM YOUR MAN.

Good. I think that about covers it.

hey mike i saw ur shortout it was great, well i am a guy of 21ys i work as a computer opperator and also i leaning how to compose music and my fuature is music i like to be like (1) Akon (2) 50cent e.t.c. Well I have great future by the special grace of God with music i kwon i can make it.and is all about pratise

Your grammar = scraggy. I do my best to fight n00bism (i.e. "n00bs are gay douches until proven otherwise"), but when someone comes along and does something like this...

hey Mike I saw your shortout; it was great,*You should start a new sentence here* well I am a guy of 21 years, I work as a computer operator and also i am learning how to compose music and in the future, the musicians I would like to be like include (1) Akon (2) 50cent e.t.c. *Ultra-scrafty "musicians," btw; investigate Wagner* Well I have great future *snort* by the special grace of Lack-of-God *You should start a new sentence here, too* with music i kwon i can make it. and is all about practise[b'].[/b]

I really don't want to sound like a snob, or start some sort of flamewar, but I feel kinda compelled to point out that 50 Cent isn't a composer in the sense most of the people here probably think of the trade. Having sex while underpaid studio hacks mix together pre-created loops for you isn't exactly composing.

It's NOT ??!!

Aww, scraggy !!!! :)

Hi, I'm Durell. I'm from New Jersey and am studying composition at Montclair State University. I've been composing and learning different instruments since I was 9.

This site seems pretty cool! Can't wait to post a few threads, and listen to others'!

Just joined - nothing much to say at present - have to get back to studies - got a composition to finish - hopefully, people will be impressed - haven't got around to figure out how this site works properly, so be patient for some new works to be posted

RoG, you, at least, seem to have a rough sense of what "is" and "isn't" real music. People like the above have no business here and should not come back. You will not start a flame war, because everyone here agrees with you.

Peter, before you impress us, learn to compose like this.

hola :P

*grin* glad to hear it. I'm always careful about the "real music" argument though, especially now that I'm home for the summer... during the school year, the college enclave of kids who use terms like "overtone series" and "augmented dominant" in ordinary conversation (including me :P) gives me reinforcements when I want to argue about music. but I'm severely outnumbered back at home with my high school friends. I love them all, but they like Metallica over Mahler, which makes me sad, and makes me realize how hard it is to argue the art music side!

I love Mahler, but I far prefer Wagner. His music is so complex and sophisticated...

Did I mention I created a new word..."wagnasm"?

Hi, Iam patrick from Indonesia I am study at The Arts Institute of Indonesia at Jogja. I am study contemporer composition(avan-gard) and electronic music by Mr OTTO SHIDARTA. I'll upload my new elektronic music than I wish you are all will lisaten and my give me comment and suggetion ok :):)

Welcome to all the new folks...hope you stick around.

Iron out your spelling/grammar, too. Firefox has a built-in spell checker. Use it, and if you don't have firefox, Click Me.

Yeah, we seem to be losing a lot of people at the moment :( We need new blood. :)

Correction: We need new blood that can spell, compose, and be subtly humorous in a way that mimics Letehn/Hands/J. Lee.
