A big Welcome to janaejean, Paladin, ClassicalSax, and ivs. :)

Welcome to the community - hope you enjoy it and find it useful!

Hello! My name is Mark, I've been visiting this site quite regularly for the past few months and thought it was time to join. I study classical piano at the Kristiansand conservatory in Norway, and compose little bits and pieces whenever I find the time. :)

Hi, my name is David and I'm a hack. I think composing is fun sometimes, but I don't have any formal training or whatnot. Also, I started late.. 16ish (I'm 20 now).

I'm a totally useless piano player, but I've got a decent baritone voice. That's me then.

Hoping to get some constructive criticism on my crap :D

Hi this is sadegh here from New Zealand. I like music and orchestra compositions and I'm hoping to become a composer and musician. :)

Hello everyone, I'm Luza, from Mexico City. I'm 28 and I play acoustic guitar since I was 10; at 13 I started studying piano, which I really love, but because of different circumstances I had to quit my lessons back then and was able to start all ovear about two or three years ago but in a self-teaching fasion. Finally I started my violin lessons a year ago with a great teacher and violinist (Arturo Fonseca). I'm a song-writer in both, english and spanish, and so far all of the music created for my lyrics is only guitar music. I'm working to start doing something interesting with the piano and violin for my own songs as well.

Hope to get to know all of you very soon and be useful for whatever you may need.

Best,

Luza:D

Jeg bruker faktisk begge... :)

I am Connor Pelkey. I compose a lot. Almost constantly, it usually starts with a chord structure I get on the guitar or a motif written on bass or sax, and then I orchestrate from there. Most of the time it becomes something metal/rock but occasionally I go in a different direction. To me it matters. I also like to sing. :D

As far as being a musician, I am the guy who does music for fun, and I will continue to do that as long as I still breathe. I may not be majoring in it when I graduate this year, but I figured out (fortunately early) that the kind of music I truly enjoy (metal and rock) is not credible, so I may as well do my favorite non-music thing (psychology) and just stick to my guns.

I have several recordings that I may share. :D

My name is Adam, and I go by Arcanum at Sakari-Infinity (where I am a staff member), RMXP.org, and a few other places as well as here... I'm 17 years old and going to community college to study music. I compose music quite a bit using various MIDI programs and Reason, play Guitar, Piano, and Violin (Piano and Violin I picked up more recently, so I'm not as good at them yet as I am at guitar) and I also am something of an artist. The type of music I compose ranges from progressive metal and rock to incidental video game and film scores, and I'd love to expand my repertoire of styles and instruments even more at some point.

I can't remember for the life of me how I found this place, but from what I've seen, it looks like it's a nice place. I currently prefer my usual haunts of Sakari-Infinity and Rmxp.org to here, but that may change depending on how I like it here.

Heya ! Im In

Hi everyone, I'm Emma. I've lived in lots of countries and still travel a lot but my music has always accompanied me.

I've played piano for the last 17 years, since I was 4 years old and I have just started playing a guitar of my mum's as it helps with your writing and I've noticed it's good practice to be able to pick out chords like that.

Currently in London, I was studying for a French degree but I've finally started to listen to myself and so am giving that up and will *hopefully* start at L'Ecole Normale de Musique a Paris in September on the Piano performance course. It's a big step, but I have faith that it will pay off.

I am constantly composing, as I hear music in everything, everywhere ... from rhythmic footsteps on the stairs in the tube station whilst another person makes a melody on the brass banister (!) to the bar where I work when it's busy and the sound of glasses and fridges opening and shutting is fantastic percussion ... so I always have little melodies and rhythmns running through my head. I have to say though, not a lot of it gets written down in full - but that's something I am working on now.

Hope to get to know some of you over the course of the nexts few months. x

Hello, i'm Luca from Italy...

I have always composed "recherche music" and I studied music from the theorical point of view (history, Philosophy, psycology and so on). Il love contemporary music, especially S. Scarrino, Ligeti, Xenakis, G. Scelsi...

I'm here to improve my harmony and written music skills...and to get in touch with young composers...

(I'm 27...ahem...I'm still "young"?)

See you!

Hi I'm Roger. I'm a 27 year old father of 3. (I know, I know. I've heard it a million times....lol) I've been composing and studying 'serious' music for about three years, after a 15 year stint as a rock/metal/blues bassist, guitarist, and keyboardist.

Oh, and Kublai.....27 is as young as we think it is.....

Hooray for 27-year-olds!

Welcome to the club.

LOL

Thanks.

Hello everybody. I am 15 years old and live in Canada (eh). I've been playing piano for about nine years now, flute for two and I just started composing seriously for about a year. I use Sibelius and love it. After listening to music and playing it, composition seemed like the next logical step. I love piano concertos and I am in the midst of writing one myself. Some favorite composers include Rachmaninov, Beethoven, Debussy, Ravel, Prokofiev, Chopin...

G'day,

I'm Adam (Woofman) and I'm from a little place called Darley in Australia. Darley is sort of borderline city-country; go ten metres north and you're in the forest, half a kilomtere south and and your in a town.

I started piano when I was seven and violin a year ago. I find that for some strange reason I can compose nothing on piano and everything on violin. On violin I seem to be able to figure out songs by listening to them... Canon in D, Meditation from Thais and My Heart Will Go On being the main ones. I have two dogs, a border collie and an Irish Red Setter.

Hey folks! My name is Josip Pesut, I am guitarist and music composer from Croatia! I compose all kinds of music... you can hear it through the links!

Hello! My name is Elliot. I am a 16-year-old junior in high school, and I currently reside in Austin, TX, where I have absorbed its weird and creative environment for my stay of over two years.

I've been playing piano for probably 12 years of my life, but my aspiration has never been to become a great technical musician (which I certainly am not), but rather to create. I've been composing as a hobby for the last 7 years, since I released a progressive electronica album (on MP3.com) when I was 9 years old, but I never really got serious about composing until just a few months ago. I have been playing the cello for almost 5 years (though it doesn't quite show...), and at the beginning of the year I joined an awesome string quintet (The Yellow Quintet) which performs some of my original compositions.

I am also a painter and general artist, and my life aspiration is to be a great filmmaker.

Oh, and I've been using the 1994 version of MusicTime since... 1994... until the beginning of January this year, when I finally purchased a copy of Sibelius. And it is amazing. Just so you know.

I also have purple hair.

Welcome to YC Elliot. :)

Thanks. :]
