I guess this is where I introduce myself. Hi, I'm SCharell, My real name is Shana. If this is the wrong place, sorry, I just found this site. But, about me:I'm 16 almost 17 years old, and I play the piano/keyboard, and the clarinet (slightly). According to my parents, I've been playing the piano since I was three, but I can't really confirm that, I just believe them. I taught myself how to play, and I don't read music that well, but I have an extremely underutilized photographic memory that allows me to memorize every piece I've ever made or learned by ear. I've heard from others that I'm a pretty good singer, and I sing with my family which I love doing because we can all actually sing. I have my own album that I worked on with my father of song that I wrote on the piano, and recorded on a Triton Keyboard, he made the accompanying beats. Let's see, what else? I plan on using the money I save up to buy a guitar, I hope to become recognized for my music someday, just like everyone else. I love playing the piano, and I love making music.

And I think that's it. Oh, again, if this is the wrong place, I apologize, and I would appreciate it if someone could take the time to point me in the right direciton.

Hi, I'm Brian. I'm 23 and have been composing since I was 12.

Hi, I'm Laurel, and I'm a writer thinking of using a young pianist/composer in my novel. I am trying to get an idea of how a character like that will think and act. Thanks.

My name is Alan Brown. I am a music composer for more than 15 years now but in the film music genre for a bit more than 2 years now. You can check out my stuff at First Sound Entertainment

Hi, Otto Hanson from Oregon. I'm 25 for now.

I've been looking for a composers community for a while. I studied composition at University of Oregon but took a degree in Digital Arts because it pays better and has health insurance benefits.

Piano is my main composition instrument. Right now I'm focusing mainly on getting my old works down on paper.

I really look forward to sharing music with everyone.

Hi, my name is Eric, but I generally go by Oica on the net(and sometimes around "real" friends. I am in high school. I play electric guitar somewhat but have become interested in music composition, more specifically, works for piano. I can't read music but have put together 2 (one slightly incomplete) short pieces in Sonar. I have been "composing" for a few weeks.

Welcome all!

Laurel: don't be afraid to ask any questions around here.

Hey, Im Andres and I started studying composition some years ago. Its becoming my life but I cant find the way to satisfy my "hunger for knolledge"

English its no my main language but I can and wish to comunicate. I think this site its a very nice place because the way of the composer its very lonely.

I will be very pleased to share ideas and add new perspectives from here.

I live in Tijuana (a nasty place) and for you that dont know here I can tell you besides all bad publicity and crime this its a very spetial and multicultural place. I never get uninspired and I can stop working. My main work its in an orchestra here (playing double bass), we play lots of chamber music and premieres of new music. So I have free orchestration lessons every day, hohoho!

Best allways!

Andres...

Welcome newcomers....stick around! This can be a fun and helpful place.

...whenever anyone mentions Tijuana I always think of this little ditty:

Mingus - Tijuana Gift Shop

Hello, my name is Randal, and I am 16 years old. I haven't participated in any formal theory classes, though I do know a minimal amount of music theory. I have tried my hand in composing since 14, and I thirst for more knowledge. I love composing. It is how I define who I am. I also love to sing. I am a baritone, and have been singing for 3 years now.

Hi all, my name is Nathan, but you can call me Comrade Death. I am currently fifteen and I began composing when I was thirteen. I'm an active pianist/violinist/vocalist/bassoonist/clarinetist/tubist/organist in my area and have already started making a living off of performing! I've already posted two works on here, but no one has reviewed them yet, so you could be the first!

Welcome to the forums everyone!

And remember..you'd better worship Mahler or Bruckner or you all will die horrible deaths...or be banned...can't figure out which is a worse punishment.

Trust me, my first experience was a very pleasurable one. I was at choral festival and we performed "Homeland" based on "Jupiter." I almost cried when we sang it.

Hi guys, I'm Brian.

I like music a lot, although I know I lack some music education.

Anyways, I joined this website not only for music, but for another very special reason.

And that reason would be?

Hi I'm Stu,

play piano, vintage keys all sorts of stuff.

Worked as a session player for a few bands and run 2 of my own function bands (Jazz & Disco).

I'm getting into writing for film/TV and already have had some interest from 2 companies, but no solid work yet :(

you can catch me at MySpace.com - Stu Kennedy - Glasgow, UK - Funk / Jazz / Blues - www.myspace.com/jazzystu

Hi, I'm David and I'm almost 15. I took classical piano when I was 7 and have been studying jazz saxaphone for about 5 years, I've also been playing guitar for about 3 years. I'm primarily a songwriter for a band that I play in but I enjoy composing to. I've never really been taught anything about composition but did teach my self a good amount of music theory so that I could play along to John Mclaughlin stuff.

My name is Jacob and I have studied piano for 11 years now. I am sixteen years old. I also play trombone (5 years), accordion (2 years), and cello (2 years). Right now I am working on a sonata for clarinet and piano called "Genesis" that is based on well the creation of the world. I am really looking forward to getting involved in this forum.

I also play trombone
