Nostalgic Breeze on the Beach

Very pretty especially in the development section. And I love the fact that it is you playing. Much more raw emotions. Great work.

Thanks! There are some odd progressions that I'll need to fine tune if I have time.

good job! though the area about 2:00 - 2:20 seemed kind of odd with the new progression in it. but overall good job.

Yes always good when the composer plays :) This is definitely nostalgic. I would say that time has stood still in fact. It is hard to bring off music that is this slow but you do. I love the lower notes that emerge after the higher opening ones. That is very effective. Some of the chords are lush. I liked it. :)

I love that you have the courage to write something like this. It's not always people are in the mood to appreciate something like this, but this is good. It's fragile and light, and yet full of emotion. Actually, I just wanted to inform that I kinda drifted away while listening to this :P Suddenly I thought "Oh I should pay attention too." I liked the first part better than the part at 2:00 though, maybe it's just because it's not "up in my face" as a live performance would be.

The chords at the end, man! I like it :D I would have liked a bit more "rawness" at the end, in the left hand. I think it would fit the right hand better

jhardindrums: Yeah it is quite odd, you're right. Thanks for the comment.

jaime_B: Hehe. I'm glad you found it nostalgic. I really wasn't trying to impress with a beautiful melody, or anything of that sort. I really just wanted to capture the emotions, to be in a state of relaxation essentially. You could say it's incidental music. Thanks!

Silasj: LOL! I like your bluntness ;) No worries about the drifting away, since I didn't intend on anything ear-catching. Rather something you'd hear in a really mellow movie scene. Thanks for listening! =)

Very good of you to make liberal use of rests through-out the piece: without proper pauses, that generally removes a feeling of reminiscence and nostalgia, so very good job with that! :)

This is one of those pieces that deliberately has a melody that one cannot easily latch onto: it's no wonder one wants to "drift" as Silasj did: I did drift off too! I think therein lies the beauty and power of this piece: subtle emotion causes this hypnotic feeling throughout...all very subtle, and yet so strong, I really can't quite explain it...

Also very nice of you to make those particular chords appear at 3:03ish. The ones where you push two notes close together: it makes for a feeling of sorrow, I think, in the context in which it appears.

All in all, this is one of my favorites on the site, no kidding, I'm going to rate it 10/10 and favorite it. When I listen to it, it just gives me this wonderful feeling inside...

Thanks very much for sharing! :D

Wow. What a comment. Haha, you're way too kind! I wish I knew what I did to create the subtle beauty, but I'm glad it made some impact. I really just compose things quickly, and play them the day of. So essentially, I composed this in maybe a few hours, which is why I'm a bit shocked at the reviews. Favourited? Now it looks like I paid you :P

Thanks again for the comment.

Very beautiful work! I can see that impressionism was a big influence on you. Very beautiful.
