February 15, 201016 yr A piece I wrote, inspired by the song 'Humans Are Disappearing' from the Mass Effect 2 Soundtrack. Constructive criticism appreciated! Solace
February 15, 201016 yr Hah! I was just playing Mass Effect 2 a minute ago! I haven't heard the ME2 song yet, since I just got the IFF. But despite the repetitiveness, I enjoyed the ambiance. I really could feel the ominous tone. Good work! Btw, are you using Reason? The sound fonts are familiar.
February 15, 201016 yr Author I'm using Mixcraft from Acoustica, with various instruments from different DSK Plugins. Thanks for the comment!
February 15, 201016 yr Hmmm... needs more instruments... but seriously, I started to lose interest after the first 30 secs. At least add a high string line with some kind of melody if you really want to keep it this simple.
February 15, 201016 yr 0:10 more could be done with that delay effect; we have a long drone between the piano phrases. I can see this backing up one of those tense scenes where one of the Lieutenants just told the Commander something terrible like, "The Humans Are Disappearing." I'll comment a little more in depth later. It's a cool start. Peace on Earth, -John
February 15, 201016 yr It needs to get going a little faster....half a minute of one single note gets kinds deperessing to be honest. Once it got going, it was enjoyable though, so it's still a competent start. I'd just like to hear more :phones:
May 12, 201015 yr It is a little depressing I guess. In fact after the first few seconds I realized that I had stopped breathing temporarily lol I even felt like a weight on my chest. However, considering the purpose of the music I think its fine, but changing it up a bit would be nice too. I too, would love to hear more...maybe a daunting climax or something like that
May 12, 201015 yr hey jhardin, this was a nice piece, it gave the atmosphere for the first 30 seconds, as people said, but later on it lacked serious development-i know its hard to judge when is the right time to develop a piece, especially when you have to keep the vibe, it requires exploration on your part until you reach something that connects on the right path from before. i still say, you got a nice vibe there, dark, just need some development.
