The J
another pop quiz regarding... does the rules of the composition restrain me to not repeating a movement? for example, is AABA form allowed? or any other using repetition?

Movement structure is solely up to you. IF you want to repeat a section within the movement, that is fine.
David Vogan
Can I be withdrawn from the competition? I'm too busy to progress very far currently.

jawoodruff
How about I drop the bottom limit to 4 mins - that should give you guys some room to work with. I've already been expecting to hear a masterwork from you David. :(
David Vogan
It's most likely going to be a prelude, Jason =P I've already made it sound that way anyway xD Besides, I'm fine with finishing it a bit late. I've made a vow to complete this piece, and not procrastinate any longer. Yet again, it'll most likely not cut more than 5 minutes. Don't worry, I'll re-enter next month's competition (I'm not as busy in April =D ) Thanks for the offer though :)

David Vogan
Haha, Jason. I'm quite a novice at composing, don't expect me to make anything comparable to Bach yet =P

The J
umm, writing this may be impossible since i've recorded a significant part on rubato, bringing it on a score on cubase will look like war zone..how do you write rubato at all??? fermata on each note?? You just write rubato on your score. Are you using a score to compose it and cubase to notate it?
The J
the contrary, live recording DAW to compose and cubase to notate..i think it will be faster if i'll write it down...although it would be in the G, F clef only, don't know the C clefs.. jawoodruff
It doesn't have to be 7 mins Serge. I dropped the limit down to 4 - 5 mins if needed.

That was causing me serious mental anguish... :D Okay, so since I didn't have to worry about expanding it more, I got it done easily. http://www.youngcomposers.com/pg/Music/MusicFiend/composition?entry=33869
