Fantasia for Tenor Saxophone and Guitar

Featured Replies

This is written for a short film. The scene that music take place is a romantic one.I don't know if the guitar can play those arpeggios first it was written for piano but I liked this sound combination more so I kept it this way.

Nice simple thematic music. I don't have much of a critique as it seems to do what you intended pretty well and I don't hear anything particularly "wrong" with it. I would love to hear it in context. Do you have the film clip it was used with?

I agree with Ben's words: to see the music played with the scene is important, to see if it fits well with the scene.

As for the music itself though, it's well done, I think: the vibe it gives to me is sort of a subdued, sexy, elegant feel, where the woman and man talk, and have a meaningful, 30's styled dialog...that's how it strikes me, anyways.

Thanks for sharing ;)

I agree that seeing the scene is important before I make any real "this is" and "that is".

This seems like some sort of sappy love scene, I have to say. I think the music itself is pretty cool, without any big problems, but I can imagine this as being the music for a "oh come on!" love scene.

Lovely! Captures some sort of love scene very well. Your modulation into a flat key signature was very juicy indeed. Very near the start there was a harsh dissonance in the guitar i wasnt particularly fond of, but thats just me. Guitar complements sax pretty well, jazzy 7 and 9 chords are niice. sleazy but not too much so :D sorry about the disjointedness of this comment, im just writing down exactly what im thinking as the music plays. nice job!
