Polka James bond

Featured Replies

hi guys, this is another EWQLSO only of a theme i played around in my mind, i played quite a bit until i dug up that groove, hope you like it as well.

again, my goal, beside the groove, was to create unique melody and some nice big fat sound.

this messege will self-destruct....err nevermind-you may dance polka after this.

Polka James bond

Neat track, The J.

It still doesn't groove with me yet. The horns in the right sometimes sound rhythmically loose. That messes up your groove.

A more interesting drum beat might help your groove. Maybe you wanna experiment with different speeds. Right now, I'm not getting off the couch and dancing to your music. That should be your goal.

Nice work, The J, but I think it needs a little more.

-John

i feel some groove in this , maybe you should have used a bass guitar , that would have increased the groovey feeling! , and a better drum line . over all it feels like a james bond theme ! specially at around :46 good job:D

hey abd, i think we all have different definitions of what is groove, in my district it doesn't have to have complicated bass lines or funked up drum loop. john, i quantized those trumpets and i hear that they are gibbirishing still, you're right, its sloppy.

thanks for listening guys.

Man, nice work overall, but you really need to work on the drums, specially the metallic snare sound.

Keep up the good work!

hi olwen, there is no metallic snare, its a metal plate bash with orchestral snare-intentional. i think this piece is simply not to the taste of most listeners.

Heh, nice one J. I think this would work brilliant in some comic action movies like Get Smart. It really does have that funky polka sound to it but I can hear that the polka sound actually lies in the melodic structure in the strings and not in the groove as one would think when polka is mentioned. Nice work with tremolo strings in the beginning, it instantly created that James Bond feel. I think you could even transition to a drum 'n' bass type of groove later, which would typically indicate a car chase scene. Good work. I just didn't get enough of the big fat sound you were talking about, but I really like the piece.

Don't know why but your music always cheers me up, you must be a really up-beat guy :)
