Soundation

Featured Replies

As you guys have no doubt noticed, I'm always hunting for new and cool technologies, and today I came across an interesting offering for you. It's called Soundnation and it's a web-based sequencer. Brief details:

Whether you are an amateur or a pro you will be able to satisfy all your needs with Soundation Studio — a powerful online sequencer with 11 real time effects, 3 synthesizers, a drum machine and a fully integrated Sound Shop.

We offer you an introductory library of over 400 loops, the possibility to buy more sounds and in short, a place where you can store all your sounds as well as your own productions. Try us out and give us your comments!

Take a look!

I'm still just trying it out, but for what it is it seems surprisingly robust. Very cool. Feel free to leave any thoughts if you give it a try!

Just a quick note: according to the site, it's actually called "Soundation", not "Soundnation".

(No hard feelings, Marius, just figured I'd point it out!)

I doubt I'll have much need to use it personally, but speaking from a computer science perspective, the technology looks very cool and quite well done.

You're right, my bad! :P I ought to pay some more attention when I do these things. The tech seems nice; I wish it wasn't loops only but for a web tool it's still quite nifty.

The interface looks a lot like logic. Do you think you could do serious work on this or would it be more gimmicky?

My vote would be for gimmicky, but then again for a loop-based production environment it's actually quite sweet...some nice plugin things so you can warp and work with the loops in creative ways.
