August 26, 201015 yr I started to wrote this long time ago and after I watched Hitman I got an inspiration from it then it turned out something like this. It has a kind of soundtrack vibe. Short piece. All comments are welcome. Thanks The Fracture
August 27, 201015 yr The title doesn't seem right. ;) I said this already to you, but I'll reiterate. Nice job! You already know I like it from previous discussions. I don't like the brightness of the trumpets in the first portion. Maybe if you went with a bone section instead of a trumpet section there, that would solve that issue; or perhaps a different voicing. The tutti forte section does not have that problem, though at times the harmonies suddenly thin out on odd notes for no reason in the middle of the line. Love the dynamic contrasts, really adds to the drama. The final unison is a hair too abrupt, I think the music needed a tad more time before it wanted to finish it off with the unison. Thanks for sharing!
August 27, 201015 yr what the...? and that's the name you've come up with jem??? lol that's cool, the first piece is fractured allright but the next part...maybe "fracture and closing" lol, i dont know..
August 27, 201015 yr Hey I've heard this before!! But was THIS your final name :P ?? I really love the engaging mix of the instruments, though I'm puzzled where that really jazzy woodwind/synth like solo at the start comes from Hitman. In the brass, were you trying for a distorted feel - as the notes seemed a little muddy, which is probably caused by the off notes (example at 1:27). I'm not sure if you're going for a more standard harmonic accompaniment, but meh, :P THere's some really nice harmonies going around, and I loved the various flashy percussive elements thrown about. At 1:58, I felt the horn could have had some more bite to reeally add some intensity, and grab the listeners attention more. The ending was pretty nice, but clear up some of those off key notes - I want to hear a conclusion with a fuller sound!! Apart from that, it's a excellent piece, loved every moment of it, and yeah, thanks for sharing!! ^^
August 27, 201015 yr Hey Jem! I said this before, so I'll say it again; funky crime drama. Part of it's set in the 80's but some of the percussion feels more modern. The buildup at 1:10 could have been a little louder to match the volume level of the next section. Very cool! And the name's Awesome! -John
